Greencarrier Launches a New Direct Service
Together with its UK-based subsidiary Greencarrier PTS, Greencarrier is expanding the range of services it offers the Nordic market with a new direct service to Finland. The new link comes less than six months after Greencarrier acquired the Ipswich-based company PTS UK Ltd. PTS already maintained regular full and part-load services linking the UK with Sweden, Denmark and Norway prior to its acquisition by Greencarrier.
SeaHold GEOSHIPS Adds Two New Offshore Vessels
SeaHold GEOSHIPS expanded its fleet of multi-purpose offshore vessels. The two new vessels âLoch Erisortâ and âLoch Roagâ brings the Aberdeen-based firmâs fleet up to three, while also signifying a $140m in additional financial commitment. The new vessels, which are both of Vik & Sandvik VS470 design will be delivered in Quarter 1 2012 and Quarter 4 2012 respectively and are actively being promoted to the Oil and Gas market for long-term work.
Decommissioning Guidelines for North Sea Subsea
A new study which aims to inform UK government guidelines on environmentally responsible methods for decommissioning offshore pipeline bundles will be launched in Aberdeen this month. The study was secured with assistance from ITF, the technology facilitator for the global oil and gas industry, following membership support for the project. It will be led by project management and engineering consultancy PDi, with assistance from eight operating companies.

Austal Acquires Philippines Shipyard
Leading global shipbuilder and defence prime contractor Austal has acquired a shipyard in the Philippines as part of its strategy to regionalise its manufacturing base for commercial vessels. The $7 million acquisition of the former FBMA Marine shipyard enables Austal to establish shipbuilding operations at the West Cebu Industrial Park at Balamban, in the province of Cebu. Austal will invest a further $5 million to enhance the shipyardâs existing facilities.
