GOST (Global Ocean Security Technologies), celebrating its 10th year as a world leader in marine security, tracking, monitoring and video surveillance systems, announced today that it has donated a GOST EZ-Tracker to provide location information as part of the refit of the universally accessible 60-foot sailing catamaran, Impossible Dream.

The Impossible Dream is fully operational by a person in a wheelchair. She was designed by Nic Bailey and built by Multimarine Manufacturing of Cornwall, UK. Owned by Shake-a-Leg Miami, the Impossible Dream is undergoing a complete update with the assistance of a number of sponsors to be an ambassador of technical connectivity and accessible boating. The vessel will begin a tour of the East Coast of the United States once the update is completed. Numerous sailing excursions and events are planned.

“Impossible Dream is about making the adventure and joy of sailing available to people of all abilities,” said Jay Keenan, president and CEO, GOST. “Providing GPS tracking capabilities, not only for the security of the vessel, but also for the security of those traveling aboard her is just one small way that we can help make long distance sailing a possible dream.”

The GOST EZ-Tracker is 100% self-sustaining and does not need to be connected to external power due to its long-life lithium ion battery. It can send 2 reports a day for up to 5 years and is perfect for deployment where there is no external power source.

Sending vessel name, latitude, longitude, speed and heading at preselected intervals, the EZ-Tracker is accessible through a secure website for tracking a stolen vessel or so friends can remotely provide support and encouragement, weather routing and/or notify the Coast Guard if there is a deviation from the float plan.
