Offshore Wind: Good Supply, Growing Demand

Excelerate FSRUs Hit Send-out Milestone

US-based LNG solutions company Excelerate Energy's  Northeast Gateway Deepwater Terminal (Northeast Gateway), located offshore Boston, reached a peak send-out flow rate of over 800,000 MMBTU per day of natural gas on February 1, 2019, a first for the terminal.The operation was completed by two of Excelerate’s floating storage regasification units (FSRUs), Exemplar and Express discharging in parallel through Excelerate’s proprietary offshore buoys.During the coldest days of the year, demand for natural gas from residential customers rises in New England.

Anadarko Shell Deal for Mozambique LNG

US company Anadarko Petroleum has signed a major long-term contract to shore up its proposed liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal in Mozambique.The Woodlands-based oil and gas company said that  Mozambique LNG1 Company, the jointly owned sales entity of the Mozambique Area 1 co-venturers, has signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement (SPA) with Shell International Trading Middle East. Japan Ink LNG Supply Deal with China

China's LNG Imports Hit Record High

China's imports of liquefied natural gas (LNG) in November surged to a new record as the country briskly promotes the green fuel to clean its energy mix, said a report in Xinhua.In November, LNG imports totaled 5.99 million tons hitting a new record, rising 48.5 percent year-on-year, according to figures from the General Administration of Customs released over the weekend. MHI Vestas Confirms Scotland Offshore Wind Order

Ørsted Concludes Deepwater Wind Acquisition

Danish wind energy giant Orsted completed its previously announced takeover of Deepwater Wind from D.E. Shaw group in a deal valued at $510 million.The company closed the transaction of acquiring 100% of equity stake held by D.E.
