Danfoss Acquires Visedo
Danfoss said it has acquired Visedo Oy, expert in electric solutions for the off-highway and marine markets headquartered in Lappeenranta in Finland. “Acquiring new innovative technology is an important part of our investment in growth,” said Kim Fausing, Danfoss president and CEO. Visedo will be integrated into the Danfoss Power Solutions business segment. The acquisition includes all Visedo subsidiaries globally and a design and manufacturing site located at its headquarters in Lappeenranta.
Flynn Refrigeration Revamps Product Lineup
A new-look product line for 2017 from U.K. marine specialist Flynn Refrigeration aims to provide customers with an even broader offering of refrigeration and air conditioning products. Continually expanding its offering to the marine and industrial markets, the Birkenhead-based company said the latest relaunch is geared toward clearly defining its main product lines. Flynn Refrigeration's range has now been grouped into 18 core product categories sourced from more than 45 manufacturers including Bitzer, Danfoss, Compair and Ingersoll Rand.
Flynn Refrigeration Secures Deals with Solstad
The Birkenhead-based firm announced it has secured contracts to supply the Normand Oceanic and Normand Installer vessels with Bitzer compressors. Flynn Refrigeration managing director Alex Flynn said it has now supplied more than 20 Solstad vessels since it began trading with the Scandinavian firm in 2013. “Although we only started trading with Solstad two years ago we have quoted and supplied 23 of their vessels in that time,” Mr. Flynn said. He continued, “The Normand Oceanic and Normand Installer both required Bitzer CSH compact screw compressors.
Roller Names Flynn Marine and Offshore Supplier
U.K.-based refrigeration and air-conditioning specialist Flynn has been appointed as an official supplier for German refrigeration firm Roller, the company announced. As part of the deal, the Birkenhead business will act as a worldwide distributor for Roller’s marine and offshore products typically fitted inside cold rooms on board vessels. Flynn managing director Alex Flynn said the deal with the Gerlingen-based firm, which specializes in the manufacture of fan coil units, air coolers and heat exchangers, further boosts Flynn’s product range.

Although the delegates to the 15th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP15) Dec. 7 - 18 in Copenhagen failed to agree on a legally binding replacement of the Kyoto Protocol, many opportunities already exist to save energy and reduce carbon emissions through improved energy efficiency in homes, schools, offices and other commercial buildings. Emerson Acquires Marine Valve Supplier
Engineering firm Emerson Electric Co. has acquired marine valve supplier Damcos Holding AS, the AP reported Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Damcos Holding supplies valve remote controls and tank monitoring equipment to the marine and shipbuilding industries. Damcos will become part of Emerson's process management business, which helps companies automate their production and processing systems.
