Blue World, Tuco Marine to Develop Methanol Fuel Cell-powered Workboats

Blue World and Tuco have agreed to develop and demonstrate a flexible methanol fuel cell solution for electric workboats. The Blue World methanol fuel cell technology is designed to provide a green alternative to the maritime industry and depending on boat type, the flexible fuel cell-powered solution can be used for auxiliary power or propulsion. The methanol fuel cell system provides low maintenance, has zero SOx, NOx, and particle emission as well as a CO2 neutral operation. Tuco supplies ProZero series, a range of fast boats for professionals.

Danish Coastal Authority Orders New Survey Ship

New Emissions-free Workboat Features Electric Propulsion, Hydrofoils

An innovative, zero-emissions workboat featuring hydrofoils and a fully electric propulsion system is scheduled to hit the water before the end of the year.The 11-meter vessel, announced by Artemis Technologies COO, Prof. Mark Gillan, during a presentation to the Workboat Association’s Technical Workgroup on Tuesday, will be built by Tuco Marine Group and is fitted with the Artemis eFoiler electric propulsion system. It is designed as a commercial multipurpose workboat platform to help operators reduce fuel usage and carbon emissions.

Danish Companies Testing New Workboat Stabilizer

Artemis, Tuco Marine Sign Joint Venture

Artemis Technologies has announced a joint venture with Denmark’s Tuco Marine Group to produce the world’s first zero emissions workboat.Artemis Technologies will collaborate with Tuco Marine Group to integrate its new electric eFoiler propulsion system into an 11m carbon fiber vessel.This will serve as a demonstrator vessel as proof of concept for the innovative technology that will be marketed to the marine trade by Artemis Technologies and Tuco Marine Group, which supplies the ProZero high performance Workboat range.  The hydrofoils and propulsion system for the proof of concept vessel will be manufactured and assembled in Belfast Harbour, following a multi million pound investment in the project.

Hamburg Police Receive New ProZero Boat

Tuco Marine Group closed a deal for new ProZero 8m Center Console Interceptor with Hamburg Police Special Forces.The 8m ProZero CC Interceptor is the short-length successor to the 12m ProZero Interceptor. The 8m Center Console offers a non-stepped, variable deep V-bottom hull featuring a fine forward entry, a flared bow, wide chines and lifting strakes/spray rails.Itr is constructed from carbon fiber composites to yield a low total weight, high performance, fuel efficiency and extended range. The ProZero boats are capable of reaching speeds in excess of 40 knots under full loading conditions.

Tuco Adds New Product to ProZero Series

Tuco Marine Group has just launched the SOLAS compliant ProZero Mrk 3 Fast Rescue Boat as part of the carbon fiber-based ProZero line. With its lightweight construction, operational capacity is increased – the rescue craft can respond faster and cover more area over longer periods of time.The new FRC is a third-generation design built around the already well proven ProZero 7,5-meter Fast Rescue Boat. The first two iterations of the 7,5-meter FRC design have been developed and tested thoroughly during the ProZero development project for which Tuco received funding under the Horizon2020 SME Instrument program. This development project ended in 2018, but Tuco Marine has continued to refine the project results and implement them in the ProZero series.

Tuco Delivers High Pressure Cleaning Boat for Akva Marine

Following deliveries of crew transfer boats and other ProZero workboats to Norway, Danish boatbuilder Tuco Marine said it has concluded another delivery of a 15m high-pressure cleaning boat to Norwegian AKVA Marine Services.The workboat is the second 15-meter high pressure cleaning boat that AKVA Marine has taken from Tuco. Danish shipbuilder Tuco Marine rounded out 2017 with the sale of another ProZero boat for the Norwegian fish farming sector. Emilsen Fisk in Rørvik has ordered a ProZero boat tailored to breeders' specific requirements. The 11-meter ProZero workboat, purchased through Tuco subsidiary ProZero Norge AS, will be used for passenger transport at the Emilsen Fisk AS breeding plant off Rørvik. Tuco noted that the vessel’s deep-V bottom secures a comfortable ride and exceptional seakeeping capabilities – all-important qualities if the crew is to arrive rested and ready at the facility.
