Kongsberg Contracted for New Seismic Vessel
Kongsberg Evotec AS, a Kongsberg Maritime company, will provide the complete back deck solution for handling of up to 20 streamers simultaneously aboard a GC Rieber owned new-build seismic exploration vessel, awarded by builder Kleven. The ST324XT designed by Skipsteknisk in Ålesund, will be built at Kleven’s shipyard Myklebust Verft in Sande, Norway, and will be operated by Dolphin Geophysical from Bergen.
Diesel-Electric Units Prepared for Navy’s AGOR Project
During most of 2012, Cummins Northwest was busy with the procurement of the various subsystems and assembly of the diesel-electric units for the two Ocean Class Auxiliary General Purpose Oceanographic Research (AGOR) vessels building at Dakota Creek Shipyards They delivered the first four-unit ship set in January of this year. Seattle-based Guido Perla & Associates, Inc. did the design work for the two vessels.
Fincantieri Awarded Pemamek Welding Automation Contract
Fincantieri and its Monfalcone Shipyard decided to continue with a Pemamek welding automation technology in shipyard’s production lines. Fincantieri ordered a unique profile processing line and one side welding station with laser-hybrid process and integrated milling. The exact amount of the contract is not revealed by the parties, but it is in the order of several million euros. Previously Pemamek has supplied patented Vision Robot Stations for welding panels to Fincantieri.
Black Sea Terminal Operator Continues Development Program
NUTEP, a container terminal operator in the Black Sea port of Novorossiysk, completed the latest phase of its ambitious port development program with the upgrade of its railway facilities there. Interlake Steamship moves toward upgrading its fleet to energy efficient, more environmentally friendly LNG fuel.
