Statoil Awards Mariner Contracts to UK Suppliers
Statoil (U.K.) Limited has awarded the maintenance and modification services contract for the Mariner field to Aker Solutions UK. The offshore services contract has been awarded to Stork Technical Services Limited, also based in the UK. Aker Solutions will perform the services for the Mariner field under a five-year contract, anticipated to start in August this year. Stork will commence services in January 2015, also under a five-year term. Both contracts include two 2-year extension options.
STELLA B1 Well Flow Test Completed
Ithaca Energy Inc. announced completion of flow test operations on the third development well on the Stella field, with the well achieving a flow rate of 12,492 barrels of oil equivalent per day. Well 30/6a-B1Z (“B1”) is the third development well drilled on the Stella field. The well was drilled to a total measured depth subsea of 16,185 feet, with a 2,147 foot gross horizontal reservoir section completed in the Palaeocene Andrew sandstone reservoir.

30,000th Liebherr Mobile Crane Delivered
After the delivery of an LTM 1500-8.1, Liebherr-Werk Ehingen GmbH can now boast the proud total of 30,000 mobile cranes supplied to customers. The Liebherr 500-tonner was supplied to the Mexican company Grupo DPH, a crane and heavy load contractor. In reaching its decision to buy from Liebherr, one of the major factors for Grupo DPH was the existence of Liebherr Mexico S.de R.L, a sales and service subsidiary founded in 2013.

Damen, MTU & SVITZER to Launch World’s 1st RSD CNG Tug
Three leading companies have teamed up to bring the first ever Reverse Stern Drive (RSD) Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) tug to the market. Damen Shipyards of the Netherlands, German engine manufacturer MTU Friedrichshafen, a subsidiary of Rolls-Royce Power Systems, and Denmark’s SVITZER have embarked on the pioneering project with the official launch of the new eco-friendly tug planned for 2016. The new RSD CNG tug combines high power with lower fuel costs and a substantial reduction in emissions.

USCG Rescues 5 from Boat Following Engine Fire
The Coast Guard rescued five people from a boat following an engine fire near the Indian River Inlet Bridge Sunday. A person aboard the 36-foot Sport Fisher, Outcast, used a VHF-FM radio to call watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector Delaware Bay in Philadelphia at about 5:30 a.m. Sunday. Saab Acquires Swedish Shipyard TKMS AB
Defence and security company Saab says it has entered into an agreement with ThyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions AG regarding the acquisition of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems AB (TKMS AB, formerly Kockums). The purchase price is MSEK 340. Saab explains that the acquisition is in line with its ambition to increase its capabilities in the naval domain, and further strengthens Saab’s status as a comprehensive supplier of military systems.
