BG Group Completes Sale in CATS
BG Group today announced it had completed the sale of its 62.78% equity interest in the Central Area Transmission System (CATS) gas pipeline in the UK North Sea and associated infrastructure to Antin Infrastructure Partners. Total proceeds from the transaction, announced on 17 June 2014, are up to £562 million, or approximately $961 million at current exchange rates, comprising a payment on completion of £523 million and a deferred amount up to £39 million.

Dutch Minister Ploumen Visits Damen Shipyards Cape Town
The Dutch Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Ms Lilianne Ploumen, and a Dutch Trade Delegation visited Damen Shipyards Cape Town (DSCT) on Tuesday, July 8th 2014. The goal was to get an impression of the way South African and Dutch companies and entrepreneurs are working together. In addition, the newly qualified pupils from DSCT’s in-house Apprentice Training Centre received their certificates from the minister.
‘Pieter Schelte’ chooses Rotterdam
‘Pieter Schelte’, the biggest vessel in the world, is to be completed in the port of Rotterdam. Owner and designer Allseas and the Port of Rotterdam Authority have signed an agreement to this effect. The plan is for ‘Pieter Schelte’ to arrive in Rotterdam at the end of 2014. ‘Pieter Schelte’ is 382 metres long and 124 metres wide. The length, in combination with the massive width, makes this vessel unique.

General Dynamics to Continue ACV Testing
General Dynamics Land Systems, a business unit of General Dynamics is continuing work on an Amphibious Combat Vehicle (ACV) solution for the U.S. Marine Corps. The recently awarded five-month contract extension, valued at $7 million, continues General Dynamics' ongoing work to determine the best option for developing an affordable, survivable and high water speed ACV platform for the Marine Corps.
Halliburton Announces JV with SPT Energy
Halliburton has signed an agreement with the SPT Energy Group Inc. affiliate, Petrotech (Xinjiang) Engineering Co., Ltd., to establish a joint venture company focused on hydraulic fracturing and production enhancement services in Xinjiang, China. The new company, Xinjiang HDTD Oilfield Services Co. Ltd., will provide fracture stimulation services, including design and analysis, data acquisition, and pumping and chemical services in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
Kalmar SmartLane Automated Gate System for Liverpool Port
Kalmar, part of Cargotec, will deliver Kalmar SmartLane automated gate system to Port of Liverpool, operated by Peel Ports Group. The new system will reduce waiting times and administration for hauliers, resulting in faster turnaround. The implementation is scheduled to be completed by early 2015. Investment in Kalmar SmartLane automated gate system is part of Peelport's £5.5m package of improvements to port infrastructure.
