LNG STS Transfer Planned off Scotland
Liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker Arctic Princess is expected to transfer a cargo to the Excelerate off Scotland's coast this week, a spokesman at Orkney Islands Council said. The transfer between the two vessels while at anchor in the stretch of water known as the Scapa Flow had been planned for last weekend, but was delayed due to unfavourable weather conditions, the spokesman said. This is the fourth ship-to-ship transfer in the Scapa Flow following previous transfers in 2007, 2010 and 2013.

Vale Draws $3 bln Credit Line as Asset Sales Falter
Brazilian miner Vale SA said on Tuesday it has drawn down $3 billion of its $5 billion revolving credit line to improve liquidity and cover potential costs until it manages to close asset sales. The money will partly be used to pay off bonds that mature in the first quarter of 2016, Vale said. The world's largest producer of iron ore has been hit hard by a collapse in the price of the key steelmaking ingredient and analysts expect the company to be cash-flow negative in 2016.

TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico Successfully Performs First LNG Bunkering at Jacksonville Port. On Saturday, January 9, 2016, TOTE Maritime Puerto Rico successfully loaded LNG bunkers aboard the world’s first LNG powered containership, MV Isla Bella. Approximately 100,000 LNG gallons transported by 12 TOTE-owned LNG ISO containers were loaded on schedule. The bunkering was conducted under strict US Coast Guard oversight while Isla Bella was also undergoing cargo operations.
