AET Names New LNG Dual-fuel VLCC

ONE Orders 12 Methanol Dual-Fuel Containerships

Japanese shipping company Ocean Network Express (ONE) has signed shipbuilding contracts with Jiangnan Shipyard and Yangzijiang Shipbuilding for the construction of 12 13,000 TEU methanol dual-fuel containerships.Each shipyard will build six vessels and are all scheduled to be delivered from 2027. Babcock Wins £45 Million Contract to Maintain UK Research Vessels

The U.K. has awarded Babcock International’s Rosyth shipyard a £45 million (approx. US$56.6 million) contract to maintain its fleet of three scientific research vessels.The initial three-year contract, announced by U.K. Industry and Maritime Minister Nusrat Ghani earlier this month, will see the large oceanographic and polar research vessels RRS Sir David Attenborough, RRS Discovery and RRS James Cook dock at Babcock’s state-of-the-art facilities in Rosyth, Scotland, for programmed maintenance and upgrade work.

Novatek Ships First LNG Cargo to UAE

Russian gas company Novatek has said it has shipped its first LNG Cargo to the United Arab Emirates.Novatek said Friday that the cargo was shipped from the Yamal LNG project by its subsidiary NOVATEK Gas & Power Asia under a spot contract."The LNG cargo was transshipped in Europe onto the conventional LNG tanker “Yamal Spirit” and delivered to the Jebel Ali LNG Terminal in accordance with the contract’s delivery schedule," Novatek said.“With our first shipment to the United Arab Emirates, we are expanding the geography of our LNG supplies,” noted Lev Feodosyev, NOVATEK’s First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board.

MISC Secures ExxonMobil LNG Tanker Contract

MISC Berhad (MISC) through its wholly-owned subsidiaries have secured agreements with Exxon Mobil Corporation’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SeaRiver Maritime LLC (SeaRiver) for the time charter contracts of two Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) carriers.Each of the LNG carriers will respectively serve the transportation needs of ExxonMobil’s worldwide LNG portfolio on a 15-year charter contract.Prior to this, MISC, through the same subsidiaries have also signed an agreement with Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. (SHI) for the construction of the LNG carriers in Korea.

Offshore Pipeline Standard Update by DNV GL

The most used and recognized offshore pipeline standard in the world has been updated to reflect the latest pipeline research and developments by DNV GL, the quality assurance and risk management company, and other leading industry players. The standard, previously called DNV-OS-F101 is now renamed DNVGL-ST-F101. Around 65% of all new projects globally are designed according to the standard, first issued in 1976. The new revision reflects the conclusions of joint industry projects (JIPs) by DNV GL and other leading industry players such as DNV GL’s JIP providing guidance for installation of rigid and flexible pipes, umbilicals and power cables.
