GOGL Acquires New Vessel

Norway based dry bulk shipping company Golden Ocean Group Limited (GOGL) has  taken delivery of the second vessel, Sea Monterrey (to be renamed Golden Monterrey). On October 16, 2017 GOGL announced that it has entered into agreements to acquire two modern Capesize vessels from affiliates of Hemen Holding Limited, a company indirectly controlled by trusts established by John Fredriksen for the benefit of his immediate family (Hemen), the Company's largest shareholder, at a purchase price of USD 43.0 million per vessel. The first vessel, Golden Behike, was delivered in November 2017.

Partner Andreas Silcher in Haynes and Boone’s London office represented TMS Cardiff Gas in its contract with Hyundai Heavy Industries of Korea (HHI) for the construction of one 174,000 cubic meter LNG carrier with XDF propulsion, plus an option for a second vessel. In a press release, TMS Cardiff Gas called the order the first in the company’s X Carrier Series of orders, which expands the company’s fleet of managed vessels to 10. The vessel is scheduled for delivery in 2020, when she will enter into a seven-year time charter contract with TOTAL Gas & Power Chartering, Limited.

TMS Cardiff Gas said it signed a contract with South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) for the construction of one 174,000 cubic meter liquefied natural gas (LNG) carrier, with an option for a second vessel.   The newbuild is scheduled for delivery in 2020, when she will enter into a seven year time charter contract with TOTAL Gas & Power Chartering, Limited.   This order is the first in the company’s X Carrier Series, which expands the TMS Cardiff Gas fleet of managed vessels to 10 (six LNG carriers and four VLGCs).

Diana Shipping Enters into TC Contract with Uniper

Diana Shipping has announced that, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, it has entered into a time charter contract with Uniper Global Commodities SE, Düsseldorf, for one of its Post-Panamax dry bulk vessels, the m/v Phaidra. The gross charter rate is US$12,700 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum 12 months to maximum 15 months. The charter commenced on January 13, 2018. The m/v Phaidra was previously chartered to Jera Trading Singapore Pte. Ltd.

ES Group Terminates Charter Contracts

Singapore-based ship builder ES Group said its unit ES Shipping has terminated a five-year demise charter contract for bunker vessel, Sea Tanker I, with Sea Hub Tankers. "Under the five-year demise charter contract  entered into on 23 November 2012, between the Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, ES Shipping, and Sea Hub Tankers, ES Shipping had agreed to demise charter Sea Tanker I to Sea Hub Tankers for a monthly charter fee, with the bunker vessel ownership to be transferred to Sea Hub Tankers upon payment of full consideration at the end of the Demise Charter Contract…

FLEX LNG Sings TC for First LNGC Newbuilding

FLEX LNG announced that it has entered into a time-charter contract for the LNG carrier newbuilding, Flex Endeavour, to Uniper Global Commodities, a leading international energy company with operations in more than 40 countries, and headquarter in Germany. Flex Endeavour is a state-of-the-art 173,400 m3 cargo capacity LNG carrier equipped with the new high efficiency MEGI propulsion system. The Vessel is currently under construction at DSME, South Korea. The time charter period is for 15 to 18 months commencing immediately upon the delivery from the shipyard in January 2018.

Stelmar Shipping Announces Time Charter Contract

Stelmar Shipping Ltd. announced it has secured the Vessel Jamar, a double hull product carrier, on a one-year time charter contract for $12,500 per day. Peter Goodfellow, CEO and president commented, "We continue to sign profitable time charter contracts aimed at providing our shareholders with significant earnings visibility. Stelmar has secured 77 percent of the net operating days on profitable time charters for 2002 and 44 percent for 2003, which is equivalent to $128 million and $87 million in revenue, respectively."

D'Amico Announces Sale & Lease Back of MR Vessel

D'Amico Tankers (Ireland) signed a memorandum of agreement and bareboat charter contract for the sale and leaseback of the MT High Freedom, a 49,990 dwt medium-range product tanker vessel, built in 2014 by Hyundai-Mipo, South Korea for a consideration of US$ 28.0 million. D'Amico Tankers is an operating subsidiary of d’Amico International Shipping S.A., an international marine transportation company operating in the product tanker market. This transaction allows d’Amico Tankers to generate around US$ 13.4 million in cash…

Otto Marine Bags OSV Chartering Contract Worth $68m

Singapore’s offshore chartering group Otto Marine  has bagged a OSV chartering contract worth up to $68.5m from an international oil and gas E&P firm. The charter, inked by Otto Marine’s wholly-owned Go Offshore, is for a 100-tonnes bollard pull OSV for FPSO infield support in the gas field of 40-year life in Australia. The chartering contract is confirmed for 5 years from May 2017 with the option of an additional 5 year extension. For the confirmed period of 5 years, the contract value is A$47.4 million and with the option, the total contract value is A$94.8 million, Otto Marine said.

Concordia Maritime Signs Contracts with Lukoil

Concordia Maritime has signed two-year timecharter contracts for the V-MAX vessels Stena Vision and Stena Victory with Litasco, a subsidiary of the Russian oil company Lukoil. The new time charters will begin immediately upon expiration of the current charter contracts with the American oil company Sunoco at the end of 2007. The vessels are chartered in from Arlington Tankers Ltd until the end of 2009. With the new time charter contracts Concordia Maritime has secured employment for the entire period.

Golden Ocen Group Secures Timecharter

Golden Ocean Group secured a time charter contract for its Capesize vessel Channel Navigator. The 172,000 dwt vessel was fixed out on a five-year contract beginning by the end of April 2009. The daily charter rate is $53,500 less 3.75% commission. Golden Ocean Group on Monday also announced a ten year time charter contract for a Capsize tanker currently under construction at the Zhoushan Jinhaiwan Shipyard in China.

Work Maintenance Vessel Delivered to Otto Marine

Otto Marine Limited, an offshore marine company, announced that further to a long-term bareboat charter contract that was secured in June 2015, it has taken delivery of a 238-man work maintenance Vessel to fulfill that charter. The delivery ceremony for the vessel, Nautical Aliya, was held at a shipyard in China today. Nautical Aliya is the first unit of the DPS-2 work maintenance vessel series completed. The second unit is currently under construction and will be completed by the end of this year. The vessel measures 85 meters in length and 23 meters in width.

Diana Shipping Announces Time Charter Contract for MV Thetis

Diana Shipping Inc. has entered into a time charter contract with China National Chartering Corp., or Sinochart, Beijing for one of its Panamax dry bulk carriers, the Thetis, at a gross rate of $60,250 per day for a minimum 11 to a maximum 13 month period. This employment is anticipated to generate approximately US$19.9 million of gross revenues for the minimum scheduled period of the charter. The charter is expected to commence in early October, 2007.

TOP Tankers Announces New Time-Charter Contract

TOP Tankers Inc it has entered into a time-charter contract with a major South American oil company for the M/T Flawless, a 154,970 DWT double-hull Suezmax tanker, built in 1991 by Hyundai Heavy Industries Co. Ltd of the Republic of Korea. The vessel is expected to commence the new time-charter in mid-June 2007 for a period of one year at a rate of $44,500 per day. The charterers have the option to extend the contract for a period of one year at the conclusion of the charter.

Teekay Sign Yamal Charter for Newbuild

Teekay LNG Partners L.P. has entered into a 15-year time-charter contract with the Yamal LNG project, sponsored by Novatek OAO, Total SA, China National Petroleum Corporation and Silk Road Fund, to provide Yamal LNG with conventional liquefied natural gas (LNG) transportation services. Yamal LNG is scheduled to commence production in 2017. The fixed-rate time-charter contract will be serviced by one of Teekay LNG's previously unchartered 174,000 cubic meter MEGI LNG carrier newbuildings that is scheduled for delivery in early-2019. Farstad Secures Charter Contracts

Farstad Shipping ASA has, through its wholly owned subsidiary Farstad Supply AS, been awarded charter contracts for the two anchorhandling vessels Far Crusader and Far Centurion by the Brazilian oil company Petrobras. These vessels are of the design ME 303 (13040 BHP) and built in 1983. The new charter period, of two years duration, begins after the expiry of the present contract to Petrobras March 2002. The total contract value is approximately $17 million.

BP Extends PSV Deals with Deep Sea Supply

 Oslo-listed offshore vessel owner Deep Sea Supply has secured two time charter contract extensions with BP Egypt.   The PSVs Sea Spear and Sea Spark have been awarded a 1 year extension of their charter contracts with start from end of current firm period, in July 2017.   "Deep Sea Supply is pleased to announce an extension of two time charter contracts with BP Egypt," said a statement from the company.   Both vessels started operations for BP Egypt in Egypt in July 2016 on one year firm and one year option contract. Following this extension both vessels are now firm until July 2018.  

TOP Tankers Announces New Charter Contract

TOP Tankers Inc has entered into a time-charter contract for the M/T Stormless, a 150,038 DWT double-hull Suezmax tanker, built in 1993 by Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co. Ltd of Japan. The vessel is expected to commence the new time-charter by the end of December for a period of three years, at a rate of $36,900 per day.

Dynagas, Gazprom in New Long-term Time Charter Contract

Dynagas LNG Partners signed a new long-term time charter contract for the Clean Energy. The Partnership, through one of its wholly owned subsidiaries, entered into a new long-term charter agreement with an affiliate of the Gazprom Group for the employment of its 2007 built 150,000 cbm steam turbine LNG carrier Clean Energy. The charter is expected to commence in July 2018 and will have a firm term of seven years and nine months. The Partnership expects to generate approximately $133.0 million of gross contracted revenues over the life of the contract.

Seanergy Bags Time Charter for Capesize Bulker

Seanergy Maritime Holdings Corp has entered into a time charter contract (T/C) with a major European charterer, for one of its Capesize dry bulk vessels, for a period of about 18 months to about 22 months. The T/C is for the 180,000 dwt Capesize vessel M/V Lordship and is expected to commence in June 2017, upon expiration of the vessel's current T/C with the same charterer. The net daily charter hire is index-linked rate based on the 5 T/C route rate of Baltic Capesize Index (BCI).

Teekay Awarded Four Long-Term LNG Contracts

Teekay Shipping Corporation announced that it has been awarded contracts to charter four 217,000 m3 liquefied natural gas ("LNG") carriers to Ras Laffan Liquefied Natural Gas Co. Limited (3) ("RasGas 3"), a joint venture company between a subsidiary of ExxonMobil Corporation and Qatar Petroleum. The vessels will be chartered to RasGas 3 at fixed rates, with inflation adjustments, for a period of 25 years (with options to extend up to 35 years), commencing in the first half of 2008. In connection with these charter contracts, Teekay has entered into agreements with Samsung Heavy Industries Co. Ltd. to construct four LNG carriers, representing a total contract price of approximately $1 billion.

Diana Shipping Time Charter Contracts

Diana Shipping Inc. (NYSE:DSX), a global shipping company specializing in the transportation of dry bulk cargoes, announced that it has entered into a time charter contract with Louis Dreyfus Commodities Suisse S.A., for one of its Panamax dry bulk carriers, the m/v Nirefs, at a gross charter rate of $21,000 per day for a period of about 23 to about 25 months. The charter is expected to commence in the middle of February 2010. The company also announced that it has entered into a time charter contract with C Transport Panamax Ltd., Isle of Man, for one of its Panamax dry bulk carriers, the m/v Erato, at a gross charter rate of US$20,500 per day for a period of minimum 21 to maximum 24 months. The charter is expected to commence in the middle of March 2010.

Dry Bulk Charter for Diana Shipping

Diana Shipping Inc. Diana Shipping Inc.a shipping company specializing in the ownership and operation of dry bulk vessels, announcee that it has entered into a time charter contract with Cargill International S.A., Geneva, through a separate wholly-owned subsidiary, for one of its Panamax dry bulk carriers, the m/v "Protefs, at a gross charter rate of US$9,000 per day, minus a 5% commission paid to third parties, for a period of minimum twenty-four (24) months to maximum twenty-nine (29) months. The charter is expected to commence in mid-August 2012. This employment of the Protefs a 73,630 dwt Panamax dry bulk vessel built in 2004, is  anticipated to generate approximately US$6.5 million of gross revenue for the minimum scheduled period of the charter.
