Chevron Tanker Receives ABS SMART-MHM Notation
ABS and Chevron Shipping Company LLC have embarked on a digital fleet management journey.As a first step, the Suezmax lightering vessel Pegasus Voyager has become the first vessel in Chevronâs fleet to qualify for the ABS maintenance optimization notation SMART-MHM (Machinery Health Monitoring), with more vessels expected to follow. The ship is also the first ABS-classed to receive the notation.ABS says this is just the beginning of the journey to condition-based maintenance for the Chevronâs fleet of 28 vessels.

US-based Chevron Shipping Company (CSC) has awarded the Dubai-based GAC Group a global three-year ship agency contract for both crude and LNG vessels. The new agreement secures the provider of shipping, logistics and marine services GACâs status as Chevronâs exclusive global agent in a partnership that spans more than 20 years, more than 15 of which have seen GAC as its sole global agent. Operations will be overseen by GAC Hub Agency offices in Dubai, Houston and Singapore with support from GACâs network of offices and approved agents worldwide. Mark Ross Named OCIMF Chairman
Chevron Shipping Company president Mark Ross has been appointed as chairman of the Oil Companies International Marine Forum (OCIMF). The OCIMF Annual General Meeting voted on Tuesday to support the Executive Committeeâs appointment of Ross, who has served as OCIMF vice-chair since 2015. Ross succeeds Shellâs Dr. Grahaeme Henderson, who stepped down as OCIMF chaurman in November after three years in the role. âI am honored to be working with OCIMF members to advance our priorities,â Ross said.

The cargo will be delivered to one of Chevron's foundation buyers, Chubu Electric Power, for delivery into Japan. The Asia Excellence loading the first Gorgon liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargo for delivery into Japan. The first cargo highlights the company's growing leadership as an LNG supplier. Dubai: New Drydocks Record
Drydocks World, the international service provider to the shipping, offshore, oil, gas and energy sectors, handled 37 projects simultaneously in the Dubai yard, exceeding the previous record of 35 vessels. âSince January 2015 Drydocks World has increased the rate of vessel completion, with 33 per cent more vessels leaving the yard in March,â the company press release said. Drydocks Worldâs 37 projects include dredgers, rigs, gas carriers, tankers and container ships, which are being repaired and refitted for clients such as Chevron Shipping, Technip, Saudi Aramco, Shelf Drilling, Saipem, the National Drilling Company, Excelerate Energy and Aban Offshore.
