Dive Support Vessel Delivered to Stapem Offshore
The first of two new 18-meter catamaran dive support vessels built for Paris-based Stapem Offshore has been delivered by South African shipbuilder Legacy Marine Group. The Marshal Island-flagged vessel, Stapem Beluga, will operate in the coastal waters of Angola in support of oil and gas exploration and production. The vessel, designed by Incat Crowther, has been customized to suit Stapem’s specific operational requirements. The aft exterior deck utilizes available space by combining deck lockers and racks for diving equipment storage with a covered dive prepping area.
Aqueos Wins GoM Contract
Subsea services provider Aqueos Corporation said it has been awarded a major contract for a large pipeline installation project located in the Gulf of Mexico. Aqueos said the contract, which commenced in December 2017 and will be completed in the first half of 2018, will support shallow-water pipeline installations in water depths up to 100 feet. The work scope will utilize the Aqueos diving support vessel (DSV) SPLASH, with surface dive teams utilizing its jet propulsion and built in NITROX diving system. The project will be supported by Aqueos’ project management team based in Broussard, La.
Kreuz Subsea Wins 5-vessel Contract in India
Subsea services provider Kreuz Subsea said it has been awarded a contract to deliver subsea completion work for Indian multi-national conglomerate, Larsen & Toubro (L&T) from the start of 2018. The contract, worth an undisclosed eight-figure sum, will see Kreuz Subsea support L&T to install all riser clamps, risers, crossing works, tie-ins, subsea trenching and hydro-testing of pipelines which are part of the Oil & Natural Gas Corporation’s (ONGC) Pipeline Replacement Project (PRP4) and Daman Field development projects off the west coast of India.
ABB $15m Order to Power Chinese Vessels
ABB, a power and automation technology group, has won orders worth $15m from Shanghai Salvage Company and Guangzhou Salvage Bureau for the supply of electric power and propulsion systems for a new diving support vessel and semi-submersible heavy lift vessel. The newly contracted semi-submersible heavy lift vessel is the sixth of its type to be awarded to ABB over the last two years. ABB – in cooperation with local partner Kongsberg – will also deliver the vessel’s automation system. China Merchants Heavy Industry Group is the main contractor for construction of the vessel, which is targetted for delivery in 2011. Bollinger Completes Conversions on Dive Support Vessels
Bollinger Shipyards, Inc., has performed conversions and modifications to three separate dive support vessels for EPIC Divers & Marine. The first of the three conversions was completed on the 220-ft. x 45-ft x 21-ft dynamically positioned (DP) Class II Dive and ROV support vessel EPIC Diver at the Bollinger Algiers location. The EPIC Diver is one of the newest acquisitions to the EPIC fleet and will be their primary DP and ROV support vessel. While at Bollinger the vessel renewed her regulatory status and documentation, received DP system upgrades with the installation of the L3 Communications (Nautronix) NMS 6000 Duplex DP System, while taking on the new colors and name EPIC Diver. The vessel is ABS Certified, DPII, and SOLAS.
Aker Yards Secures Contracts for Diving Support Vessels
Aker Yards ASA said it won an order from DOF ASA for a diving support vessel (DSV), and a contract from DOFCON ASA and Technip for a second DSV. For DOF, Aker Yards will build a DSV based on Aker Yards' Aker DSV06 design, while the other DSV will be to the Aker OSCV-06L DSV design. Source: Forbes
Kreuz Subsea Orders Dive Support Vessel from Vard
Vard Holdings Limited has secured a contract for the design and construction of one diving support and construction vessel for Singapore-based Kreuz Subsea group. The vessel will be of VARD 3 17 design, with a total length of 91.2 meters and a beam of 21.5 meters, and has been developed especially for diving support and subsea construction duties. Designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway, and with hull construction to be carried out at Vard Tulcea in Romania, delivery is scheduled from Vard Søviknes in Norway in 2Q 2017.

Aker Yards to Build DSVs
Aker Yards has entered into a contract with DOF ASA for the building of one Diving Support Vessel (DSV), and a contract with DOFCON and Technip for a second DSV. Aker Yards is to build a 106 m Diving Support Vessel for DOF, based on an Aker Yards design; Aker DSV06. The Vessel is scheduled for delivery from Aker Yards, Søviknes in the spring of 2007. The Vessel occupies a construction slot originally designated for a large PSV, the delivery of which has been delayed to 2008. It will be mostly dedicated to the UK sector of the North Sea. The vessel will be equipped with a 150T crane and all equipment necessary to support both IRM and subsea construction projects in the most challenging environments of the North Sea.
Hydrex Antwerp Expands Logistic Possibilities
Last week two dive support workboats arrived at the Hydrex headquarters in Antwerp. Both vessels can be used for a wide range of operations in Belgium, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom and France. Incat Crowther has been contracted to design a trio of 42.5m Monohull Dive Support Vessels. The design is an innovative new concept borne of the latest ideas from designer, builder and operator. The design has been developed from stem to stern to be a dedicated DP-2 capable Dive Support Vessel, featuring fully integrated ROV launch and recovery, dive compressors and decompression chamber. The vessels, currently under construction at SeaSafe Barcos Manufaturados, in Angra do Reis, Brazil, will be delivered to Sistac.

Toisa Orders Dive Support/Offshore Construction Vessel
IHC Holland Merwede BV subsidiary Merwede Shipyard received a contract for the design and construction of a new Diving Support / Offshore Construction vessel for Bermuda based Toisa Limited. Merwede Shipyard was granted this order because of its ability to design and offer a fixed price for the vessel including the integration of the complete dive spread and cranes within the required short delivery time. The vessel will be built under yard No 712 and will be delivery will take place in the first quarter of 2008. The vessel will be built in accordance with the Rules and Regulations of Det Norske Veritas, to obtain the following notation: DNV X 1A1, EO, SF, Dynpos, AUTRO, HELDK, DSV-SAT. The ship has been designed by Merwede Shipyard in close concert with Toisa.
ABG Shipyard`s Orderbook Rises
Karvy recently met the management of ABG shipyard and had a plant visit to their Surat shipbuilding facility. The company is an established manufacturer of a variety of marine ships, including bulk carriers, deck barges, interceptor boats, anchors handling supply ships, diving support ships, tugs and offshore vessels. Till date, the company has constructed and delivered around 93 vessels and has delivered three modern specialized Newsprint Carriers to Lysline, Norway. The report from Karvy mentions that the company is setting up a ship building facility at Dahej (150 km from existing yard) to strengthen its presence in the global ship building industry and is expected to be commissioned in Q1FY 2009.

Technip Buys Out DOF Subsea
The DOF Subsea Group has entered into an agreement with Technip for the sale of DOF Subsea’s ownership in the joint venture vessel Skandi Arctic, with immediate effect. According to the company, the transaction is done at market terms and will improve the cash position for the Group. The 18,640-gt Skandi Arctic is a diving support vessel (DSV) built in 2009 and it can accommodate 140 persons. Hatenboer-Water Reverse Osmosis Units For Diving Support Barges
Holland Shipyards has asked Hatenboer-Water to supply two Tethys reverse osmosis (RO) water treatment units for diving support barges scheduled to be deployed along the Gabon coast. The order marks the first project for Tethys, the new Hatenboer-Water standard water maker series for compact applications. The RO units are to be installed aboard two diving support barges currently under construction in the Holland Shipyards’ site in Hardinxveld-Giessendam, the Netherlands. Each unit will provide drinking water at a capacity rate of up to 6 m3 per day.
Combination Tug & Dive Support for Peruvian Navy
The Peruvian Navy has recently taken delivery of a well-equipped dive support vessel (DSV) from the shipyard Servicios Industriales de la Marina S.A. (SIMA). Designed in-house by the shipyard, the new 4400 HP vessel has significant towing capabilities and can act as a salvage tug. The 32 by 12-meter vessel has a molded depth of 4.5 meters on a finely-shaped, double chined hull. A four point anchoring system as well as a launch and recovery system for deploying an open diving bell are among the effective salvage and dive-support deck equipmet.
