Singapore Firms Select ABS Systems

Singapore-based offshore marine services provider PACC Offshore Services Holdings Ltd (POSH) and the maritime logistics solutions provider Pacific Carriers Limited (PCL) have selected ABS Nautical Systems  (NS) fleet management software to support their digitalization strategy.Both PCL and POSH are part of Kuok Singapore Limited (KSL) Maritime Group of companies, with competencies extending across offshore marine services, commercial shipping and marine engineering. First Commercial Drone Ship Delivery

Launching this week in partnership with Airbus, Wilhelmsenā€™s shore-to-ship Singapore pilot project, marks the first deployment of drone technology in real-time port conditions, delivering a variety of small, time-critical items to working vessels at anchorage.Lifting off from Marina South Pier in Singapore with 3D printed consumables from Wilhelmsenā€™s onshore 3D printing micro-factory, the Airbus Skyways drone navigated autonomously along pre-determined ā€˜aerial-corridorsā€™ in its 1.5km flight to Eastern Working Anchorage.

Hapag-Lloyd pilot gas-conversion leads the way for emissions reduction and decarbonizationMAN Energy Solutions has signed a contract for the conversion of a 15,000 TEU container vessel to dual-fuel operation. The container vessel MV SAJIR is owned by Hapag-Lloyd, a leading liner shipping companies, and normally serves a route from Asia to northern Europe via the Suez canal. The pilot project will entail the conversion of an existing, HFO-burning MAN B&W 9S90ME-C engine to a dual-fuel MAN B&W ME-GI (-Gas Injection) prime mover capable of running on HFO and LNG.

StormGeo, DNV GL Strike Fleet Management Deal

StormGeo and DNV GL signed an agreement to consolidate their fleet performance solutions under the StormGeo name, combining DNV GLā€™s ECO Insight and Navigator Insight solutions with StormGeoā€™s FleetDSS and ship reporting solutions. The fleet performance centers, delivery, product development, and sales will be managed by StormGeo. By the numbers this will include a combined fleet of more than 12,000 vessels that will re-ceive a daily service from StormGeo.The agreement is subject to the fulfillment of certain customary closing conditions.
