Simrad Opens New Sales and Service Facility

Simrad U.K. has opened a new sales and service facility in Mylor Harbour, near Falmouth, Cornwall. England. The facility will serve the local fishing, commercial and leisure marine communities in this busy area of activity for Simrad. who use Simrad electronic equipment for professional and leisure purposes. Lang Expands Management Team

Lang Manufacturing Company, cooking solutions provider, has appointed new sales managers for its national and international sales coverage. Kenneth Fader was named national accounts manager for the eastern region; Mark Pumphret as eastern regional sales manager, and Jon Walker as director of government contracts, marine & international sales.

New Sales Manager in Ulstein Verft

  Trond Skodjevåg Bø was appointed new Sales Manager in Ulstein Verft on 14 January 2015. He comes from a position as Project Manager Sales in Ulstein Verft. Trond S. Bø has been employed in Ulstein Verft since November 2012.  

MAN B&W Diesel Canada Elects New Sales/Marketing Director

MAN B&W Diesel Canada has appointed Roger Noseworthy as director of Sales & Marketing. A sales and marketing professional with previous experience in the automotive after-market and industrial power tool industry, Noseworthy holds an MBA from Wilfrid Laurier University.

W&O Announces New Hires

W&O Supply announced two new hires. Knight & Carver Names Brown As CEO

Knight & Carver YachtCenter, San Diego, Calif., has appointed Sam Brown as CEO. For the past 14 years, Brown has served as legal counsel to the company, whose revenues exceeded $12 million last year. Under Brown's watch, Knight & Carver recently opened new sales offices in Shelter Island (San Diego); additional offices are located in Newport Beach, Calif. and Fort Lauderdale, Fla.

Raytheon And Samsung Collaborate On Bridge System

Raytheon Marine and Samsung Industries have entered into a cooperative agreement to meld key components of Raytheon's Integrated Bridge System into Samsung's Naru 2000, which is an ECDIS-based Integrated Navigation System. The agreement is designed to further additional business in Asian markets - a large chunk of the industry's shipbuilding. The joint-venture with Samsung is expected to bring in an additional $10 million per year in new sales revenue. Formatted for commercial vessels, Samsung's fully-integrated Naru 2000 boasts premier safety oriented technologies, such as a Weather Information System and a Collision Avoidance System.

Stave Sales Manager at Ulstein Verft

Håvard Stave has been appointed the new sales manager at Ulstein Verft. For the past five years he was design manager at Ulstein Design, which became part of Ulstein Design & Solutions at the turn of the year. Before joining Ulstein Design, Stave worked nine years at Rolls-Royce Marine’s Propulsion department at Ulsteinvik, the last years as technical manager. Before that, he worked in Kongsberg Group.

Harrington Hoists Launches Kito Americas in S America

Harrington Hoists, Inc. has expanded into South America under the Kito brand. Service and parts support will be coordinated through this office with parts and service personnel being supplied by the Houma, LA office.

T.I. Announces Expansion in Europe

Titanium Industries, Inc. (T.I.) announced the recent opening of a new sales office in Duisburg, Germany. This new facility is an integral part of T.I.'s global growth strategy with specific focus on the European Market including expansion on the continent. T.I. currently has existing international locations in Sao Paulo Brazil, Montreal Canada, Birmingham England, Bergen Norway, Taipei Taiwan, Shanghai China, and Bangalore India. In addition, T.I. has nine U.S. locations. Rolls-Royce Sets Up MTU Middle East Subsidiary

Rolls-Royce has set up MTU Middle East as a new regional sales and service subsidiary with head office in Dubai to support distributors and business partners of MTU, MTU Onsite Energy and Bergen Engines in 21 countries in the Middle East and North Africa. In this region, high-speed and medium-speed large diesel and gas engines, drive systems and on-site power generation systems are mainly deployed in electrical power generation, the oil and gas industry, and to drive trains and agricultural machinery. Seaway Powell Appoints New Sales Director

Seaway Powell Marine Ltd (part of the PT Group), one of the leading British engineering companies specialising in the design and manufacture of marine hydraulic systems, is pleased to announce that it has appointed a new Sales Director for the U.K. and Europe, Jon Whetter. Jon Whetter joins the PT Group from Kawasaki Precision Machinery U.K. Ltd. (KPMUK), a division of Kawasaki Heavy Industries. Jon held the position of Sales and Marketing Manager for seven years with the responsibility of driving the sales of Kawasaki’s Precision Engineered Product range in the U.K., Europe, Africa, the Middle East, South and South East Asia. SSI Hires Holder for US Sales

SSI has hired CAD/CAM specialist Robert Holder as part of its sales force in the U.S. market. According to SSI, the hiring is intended to meet the expanding demand for SSI's design and manufacturing solutions in the shipbuilding and offshore industries. Holder, SSI's new Sales Account Executive for Enterprise Solutions, will help businesses assess SSI’s expanded capabilities, including the expanded ShipConstructor CAD/CAM product line, EnterprisePlatform product line and new pricing options that SSI now offers. He will be based in the Gulf Coast Region but will provide technical consultation to the shipbuilding and offshore industry throughout the United States.

Taylor Made Appoints New Sales Director

Taylor Made Environmental has elected Ned Trigg to the position of international and domestic OEM sales director. Trigg will be responsible for all aspects of sales operations, including assigning OEM territories, OEM relations and coordinating requirements between sales and production, applications and engineering. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from North Carolina State University in 1987, Trigg joined Marine Development Corporation (MDC) as an applications engineer. Two years later, he became an OEM sales manager and called on key domestic accounts for over 10 years. In 1997 he was given the added responsibility of Southeast Asia.

Jet Edge Appoints Area Manager for Shanghai China

Glendinning Named SVP, Service Division, Alfa Laval

Ross Glendinning was appointed Senior Vice President, Service Division of Alfa Laval Inc. in January 2016. Glendinning is charged with driving consistent profitable growth, and developing new sales opportunities for the service business of Alfa Laval in the U.S. His responsibilities include leading parts sales, reconditioning services, field services and technical support activities. Glendinning joined Alfa Laval in 1982 as Marine Engineer for the company’s military products group.

IXSEA Names Hoof New Sales Manager

In order to strengthen their activities in the scientific market and to branch out further into other industries such as defense, IXSEA appointed Arne Hoof as Sales Manager based in the new IXSEA subsidiary in Hannover, Germany. Arne will be developing the market for IXSEA products and managing sales in Germany. Arne holds an Engineering Diploma in Geodesy from the University of Hannover and a Certificate of Academic Proficiency in Hydrographic Surveying from the University of New Brunswick, Canada. He previously worked in customer support and software training and as project engineer at Hamburg Port Authority with CARIS Geographic Information Systems bv.

Freightgate Announces Opening in France

Viking Expands in Brazil, Appoints New Sales Director

VIKING Life-Saving Equipment, a marine and offshore safety equipment company, is gearing up in Brazil. Already strongly represented with its Brazilian head office and servicing station in Rio, the company announced it expanded its presence with a new branch in São Paulo’s Santos seaport on August 1, 2011. Strategically located close to the harbor and covering some 900 square meters of space, the new location currently offers liferaft servicing, with plans to introduce servicing for lifeboats, suits, lifejackets and marine fire service soon.
