Shallow Draft Coal Carrier Delivered to NYK Line
The 'Hokuriku Maru', a specialized coal carrier having a wide beam and shallow draft for the transport of steaming coal from Australia and Indonesia to power plants operated by the Hokuriku Electric Power Company (Hokuriku Denryoku) has been accepted from the shipyard by NYK. A naming ceremony was held at the shipyard on the same day and attended by Hokuriku Denryoku representatives and NYK president Yasumi Kudo, among others.

Canadian Waters WWll Shipwreck: Oil Recovery Concluded
Canada's Minister of Fisheries and Oceans, has informed of the successful completion of the 'Zalinski' Pollution Recovery Operation in Grenville Channel − roughly 100km from Prince Rupert – on the North Coast of British Columbia. The two-month operation safely extracted approximately 44,000L of heavy Bunker C oil and 319,000L of oily water from the wreck. The USAT Brigadier General M.G. Zalinski sank in 1946 in Grenville Channel while in transit to Alaska, carrying a variety of cargo.

The Port of Hueneme informs that it has performed a load bank test of its recently installed substation making the Port ready to provide a reliable, steady source of shore-side power for ships at berth. Beihai are understood to have taken an order for one firm plus one option 250,000 DWT VLOC from Sincere Navigation Corporation Enterprises with delivery of the firm vessel in 2016. Dana Gas Receives $53m from Egypt
Dana Gas received from the Egyptian Government authorities $53m from the current total outstanding receivables of $330m. Payment of $42 million has been received in US dollars and the balance in equivalent Egyptian pounds. Including this tranche, during 2013, Dana Gas has received a total of $130m from the Egyptian Government authorities. The Egyptian Government has committed to work with the company on a plan to repay the remainder of the outstanding receivables over an agreed time frame.
