Changes in Statoil’s Top Deck
Jannicke Nilsson has been appointed executive vice president and chief operating officer (COO) in Statoil ASA. She takes over the role from Anders Opedal, who will lead the development of Statoil’s growing and increasingly important operations in Brazil as new country manager. Jannicke Nilsson will assume her new responsibilities on 1. December this year, Anders Opedal will assume his responsibilities 15 January 2017.
Man Medevaced in Water Near Lafitte
The Coast Guard medevaced a 64-year-old man from Bayou Rigolettes near Lafitte, Louisiana, Saturday. Watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector New Orleans received a report at 11:35 a.m. from Jefferson Parish Sherriff’s Office that a man fell overboard from his boat into Bayou Rigolettes and suffered severe injuries throughout his body. Sector New Orleans directed the launch of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew from Coast Guard Air Station New Orleans to recover the man.
Van Oord Bags Two Egyptian Offshore Deals
Van Oord has been awarded two contracts by international contractor Subsea 7. The assignments include the construction of a landfall and the execution of subsea rock installation works in Egypt. The projects are part of the West Nile Delta project, which comprises the development of a series of gas fields, located 65 km off the northern coast of Egypt. Final client is oil and gas company BP. Preparations on site have already started.
