France Will Make Fresh Proposals on STX Shipyards to Italy
France will make new proposals to Italy with the hope of resolving their differences over the sale and joint control of STX shipyards before a Franco-Italian summit in September, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire said on Monday. Paris angered Rome last month after it ordered a "temporary" nationalisation of STX, cancelling a deal in which Italy's state-owned Fincantieri and another Italian investor had agreed to buy a 54.6 percent stake.
13% of Manned Platforms Evacuated in GoM
Offshore oil and gas operators in the Gulf of Mexico have evacuated personnel from 98 production platforms, 13.3 percent of the regionās 737 manned platforms during Tropical Storm Harvey, according to this morningās data submitted to the Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement (BSEE). BSEE said personnel have been evacuated from five of 10 non-dynamically positioned (DP) rigs currently operating in the Gulf. None of the Gulfās 21 DP rigs have moved off location.

Aiming to provide faster repair service in the Middle East to ship operators whose vessels have sustained propeller damage, Stone Marine Shipcare has signed a Service Agency Agreement with Dubai Drydock World which sees one of the companiesā mobile workshops permanently based there. The workshop will be used, not just at Drydock Worldsā own facilities, but can be quickly transported to other Middle Eastern shipyards, wherever a ship is in need of repair or maintenance to its propeller.
