Matson's 2013 Westbound Hawaii Service Rates to Increase
Matson has announced that Matson Navigation Company, Inc. (Matson) will raise its rates for the company's Hawaii service by $175 per westbound container and $85 per eastbound container, effective January 1, 2013. The increase will be filed with the Surface Transportation Board. In addition, Matson will raise its terminal handling charge by $50 per westbound container and $25 per eastbound container, also effective January 1, 2013.

UK Dredger Fishes Up WWll Mine
A 1,500lbs (680kg) high explosive WWll mine was brought to the surface by a dredger six miles north of Sheerness. Before carrying out a controlled explosion a four-man Navy team from Southern Diving Unit 2 in Portsmouth had to carefully remove the device from the vessel's dredge head. Chief Petty Officer Ian 'Scouse' Fleming, who led the team, worked for seven hours through the night in atrocious conditions to safely extract the mine and hoist it onto the dredger's upper deck.

Shell Offshore's main body of the 'Olympus' Tension Leg Platform (TLP) leaves South Korea aboard Dockwise ship. The approximately 32,500 metric ton main body of the Olympus TLP begins its two month journey to the U.S. Gulf Coast on Dockwise's Blue Marlin semi-submersible heavy lift ship.
