Members of US Navy's Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Unit (EODMU) 11 participate in a recent mine pouncing training exercise in the Indian Ocean. "Back in the day, they would jump out of a helo near a mine and attach an explosive to it," said Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technician 2nd Class Ruben Villegas. At approximately 3 a.m., Monday, Coast Guard Sector Miami received a report of a fire aboard the Bahamian-flagged cruise ship Grandeur of the Seas carrying 2,224 passengers and 796 crew en route to CoCoCay, Bahamas. The fire began on the third deck of the aft mooring area of the ship and spread to the fourth deck crew lounge area.
