Offshore Solutions: Success in Qatar
Offshore Solutions BV (OSBV), the joint venture between AMEC and Cofely Nederland NV, has achieved more than 40,000 safe personnel transfers from a vessel to offshore platforms on its heave compensated Offshore Access System (OAS)*, currently working in The Gulf. The company has also recently secured two new contracts with major operators in Qatar for the safe transfer of personnel to and from offshore platforms, bringing the total of OAS units in the Middle East to three.
Floatel Books into Gibdock
The Norwegian-owned offshore accommodation vessel, Edda Fides, one of the most advanced and sophisticated vessels of its type in the world, has been dry-docked at Gibdock in Gibraltar for a week-long package of work at the yard. The ‘floatel’, owned by Østensjø Rederi, arrived at Gibdock on April 2nd and was docked the following day. The main scope of work involved disconnecting and lowering the starboard aft Voith Thruster and renewing the main thruster seal.

SINGAPORE – FSL Trust Management Pte. Ltd. (FSLTM), as trustee-manager of First Ship Lease Trust, announced the financial results of FSL Trust for the quarter ended 31 March 2012. Revenue for 1QFY12 rose $2.2 million or 9.3% year-on-year to $26.1 million. The net increase in revenue was contributed by the full quarter lease revenue from the two vessels leased to TORM A/S which were acquired in June 2011, as well as higher freight income from the vessels trading in the spot market.
