French shipping line CMA CGM has launched Shipfin Trade Finance (STF) , its new range of financing services dedicated to importing and exporting, in partnership with invoice finance platform Incomlend.The STF portfolio of products is, according to the carrier, “simple, reliable and rapid,” offering importers and exporters tailored financial solutions ranging from extended payment terms to financing advances.CMA CGM Group further explained that it wants to support its customers’ business through financing solutions tailored to their needs.

Largest Boxship Ever Transits Panama Canal

Today, the Panama Canal completed a trial transit of Evergreen’s Triton, the largest vessel in dimension and container cargo capacity to pass through the Expanded Canal since it opened in June 2016.The Neopanamax containership Triton, which has a Total TEU Allowance (TTA) of 15,313, a 20-row beam of 51.2 meters and a length of 369 meters, transited northbound from the Pacific to the Atlantic Ocean.Similar to the milestone Q-Flex transit completed on May 12, today’s achievement was made possible by an increase to the maximum allowable beam for vessels transiting the Neopanamax Locks.

CMA CGM Group Cut Emission by 17%

Since 2015, CO2 emissions per container transported per kilometer have been reduced by 17%, said CMA CGM Group, the shipping and logistics giant."The Group has achieved a 50% reduction in CO2 emissions per container transported per kilometer between 2005 and 2015. APL Halves Fleet Carbon Emissions

APL announced a 47.4% reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per container transported per km in 2018, compared to 2009.The result follows the Environmental Performance Assessment (EPA) of APL’s 2018 carbon dioxide emission data by the global non-profit organization Business for Social Responsibility’s (BSR’s) Clean Cargo Working Group (CCWG).
