Damen Yacht Support Vessel Game Changer Sold
Dutch shipyard Damen has confirmed the successful sale of its 70-meter support vessel, Game Changer. The yacht will now return to Gorinchem in the Netherlands for further customisation. Game Changer is Damen's fourth Yacht Support vessel sold in the 70-metre segment, proving the ongoing demand for large yachting solutions for worldwide adventures, helicopter and dive operations. Damen has a total of 12 Damen Yacht Support vessels delivered or in build. The next available Yacht Support vessel is a 55-metre YS 5009 Adventure, which will be delivered before the summer this year.
LR Appoints New Commercial Director
Gael Lewis was elected commercial director at Lloyd's Register (LR), effective February 14. In this newly created position, Lewis, who joined LR as manager, special projects this past December, will work with LR's business and regional directors to establish a global pricing policy for the LR Group. He will also be responsible for helping to implement new internal approval procedures and contract bids.

Cosalt Offshore, a provider of lifting, tooling and marine services to the oil and gas industry, has announced the appointment of Lisa Mitchell as commercial director. Mitchell has worked for the company since 2000, when it was GTC Group and then became Cosalt Offshore in 2007, following acquisition. Her previous roles included contracts manager and commercial manager. VT Group names Harrison Finance Director
VT Group has appointed Philip Harrison as its new finance director with effect from November 19. Harrison joins VT Group from Hewlett-Packard where he has been vice president finance for Europe, Middle East and Africa since 2002. The shipbuilding and support services company said that group commercial director Chris Cundy, who was the acting finance director, will now focus fully on PFI, business development and the group's shipbuilding joint venture. LR Acquires Human Engineering
Lloyd’s Register seeks to enhance its human factors technical services business with the acquisition of Human Engineering Limited, a supplier of ergonomics and human factors technical services worldwide. The signing took place on July 23, 2008 in London, between Lloyd’s Register Transportation Commercial Director, Rod Evans, and Human Engineering’s Managing Director, James Amende. Human Engineering is an independent company that has been providing human factors, risk management and design services since 1995. The move adds 60 employees over four offices worldwide to the Lloyd’s Register's Group.
