Fincantieri to Build Third New Princess Cruises Ship
Fincantieri says it has signed an agreement with Carnival Corp. to build the new cruise ship for its Princess Cruises brand at a cost of about 600 million euros. The 143,000-ton ship, which will enter service in 2017, will carry 3,560 passengers (lower berths), and feature the successful design platform introduced by sister ships “Royal Princess” in 2013 and “Regal Princess” which entered service this past May.

FortisBC Energy Inc. today selected Bechtel Canada Co. (Bechtel) as the contractor for its Tilbury LNG Facility Expansion Project in Delta, B.C. (Project). The Delaware pilots association has ordered its third pilot boat of the popular Chesapeake class from Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation. Delivery of the new 53-footer is scheduled for 2015, and will mark the sixteenth of this class built by the Somerset, Mass., shipyard, since introduced in 2002. Designed by C. Raymond Hunt & Associates, the all-aluminum pilot boat measures 52.6 feet overall, with a 17-foot beam and 4.8-foot draft, and will have a top speed of 26 knots.
