Incat Crowther Design NZ Lake Ferry
Australia's Aluminium Marine is building an Incat Crowther designed environmentally responsible passenger catamaran. The 26m long vessel has been commissioned by Southern Discoveries of New Zealandâs South Island to operate out of Queenstown, transferring passengers to isolated destinations on Lake Wakatipu. It will be constructed with a removable wheelhouse, allowing it to be carried overland by truck to the lake.

Sarawak Slipways Builds in Aluminum
Sarawak Slipways have recently launched an aluminum crew boat. Built to a design by Singapore-based Naval Consult Pte. Ltd., the 38 by 7.85-meter vessel has a molded draught of 1.75 meters. With seating for 50 personnel and accommodation for a crew of eight, the vessel is powered by three Cummins engines turning fixed-pitch propellers. The port and starboard engines are Cummins KTA38M2 models delivering 1350 HP at 1900 RPM to five-blade propellers with 1050-centimeter diameters.

ICS Protests Suez Canal Toll Increases
The International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) - the principal international trade association for shipowners, representing all sectors and trades and over 80% of the world merchant fleet â has voiced serious concerns about toll increases just announced by the Suez Canal Authority (SCA), to be implemented on 1 May 2013. RoRo Blown Aground in UK River
'Ciudad de Cadiz' blown off the berth to ground near Mostyn Harbour on the Salisbury Bank, River Dee in North Wales. The vessel had been berthed alongside in Mostyn Harbour when the mooring lines parted in 60 knot winds. She then drifted onto a sandbank. Another attempt to free the ship will be made at the next high tide. "We are closely monitoring the situation, but as there is no evidence of damage to the hull, the risk of pollution is very low," added Mr. Shaw.
