Chinese, Russian Majors Ink Arctic LNG Deal

Maersk Reports Higher Earnings for Q1

Danish container shipping and logistics giant AP Moller – Maersk has closed the first quarter of 2019 with a 33% increase in earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) to USD 1.2bn while revenue grew by 2.5% to USD 9.5bn compared to Q1 2018. Operating cash flow improved significantly to USD 1.5bn and free cash flow was USD 3.5bn, including sale of shares in Total S.A.“We had a good start to 2019. In Q1, revenue grew by 2.5%, operating earnings improved by 33% and cash flow from operations doubled to USD 1.5bn.

Moller - Maersk said it will integrate APM Terminals' Inland Services division into Maersk's Logistics and Services division beginning August, providing customers with seamless access to a wider range of logistics & services offerings."This is a next step for A.P. Cosco Eyes PIL Takeover

Chinese state-owned shipping and logistics services supplier company COSCO Shipping Lines announced a new COSCO feeder service from St Petersburg, Russia will begin calling at DP World Southampton."COSCO is to introduce a new weekly call at DP World Southampton, as part of a rotation including St Petersburg, Russia; Kotka, Finland; Southampton, UK; and Rotterdam, Netherlands," said a press release.The news comes after COSCO confirmed in February that DP World Southampton will be a permanent call on its feeder service.

Kalmar Bags Uruguay Terminal Order

The provider of lifting solutions Kalmar has agreed a deal to supply seven terminal tractors and six forklift trucks to the Rio Estiba terminal in Nueva Palmira, Uruguay.The Cargotec group company said that the order was booked in Cargotec's 2018 Q4 order intake with delivery scheduled to take place in Q2 of 2019.Rio Estiba provides port logistics services, including loading and unloading of cargo, coordination of intra-port operations, in-terminal transport, and administration and cargo handling in port warehouses.
