New Stern Trawler Delivered to DFFU

A new stern trawler has been delivered to Deutsche Fischfang-Union GMbB & Co KG (DFFU) from Vard Brattvaag.The vessel, named Berlin, was developed by VARD in close cooperation with DFFU, based on the VARD 8 03 trawler design developed by Vard Design in Ålesund.Baldvin Thorsteinsson and Samuel Rodriguez, Managing Directors at DFFU said, "The delivery of Berlin is pivotal for DFFU, and VARD has done an excellent job. Vard to Convert IT Infinity PSV to Cable Laying Vessel

Norwegian ship designed and builder Vard has secured a contract from I.T. International Telecom Marine (IT) to convert its platform supply vessel (PSV) IT Infinity into a cable laying vessel (CLV).The PSV was built at Vard Brattvaag and delivered to Volstad Maritime in 2008 under the name Volstad Princess.SD Standard Drilling acquired the vessel in 2017 before it was sold to IT in 2021 and was renamed IT Infinity.The work will be carried out by Vard Brattvaag in Norway and the vessel will be delivered in the third quarter of 2024…

The Windward Offshore consortium said Monday it had ordered two state-of-the-art Commissioning Service Operation Vessels (CSOV) from VARD to "establish a sturdy basis for its maritime asset services focusing on bolstering the burgeoning offshore wind industry."Winward Offshore is a consortium currently under establishment and is led by SeaRenergy Group in collaboration with Blue Star Group, Diana Shipping Inc., and SeraVerse GmbH."Windward Offshore will play a key role in the energy transition by providing integrated offshore wind service solutions.

DFFU's New Trawler Arrives at Vard Brattvaag for Completion

The Romanian-built hull of a new stern trawler being constructed forGermany's Deutsche Fischfang Union GmbH & Co. KG (DFFU) has arrived Vard Brattvaag in Norway for completion.The stern trawler is of VARD 8 03 design and developed in close cooperation with DFFU. Vard Cuts First Steel in Vietnam for North Star's Service Operations Vessel

Shipbuilder Vard on Monday held the steel cutting ceremony for a North Star service operation vessel at Vard Vung Tau in Vietnam.This is the fourth SOV to be delivered from VARD to North Star for operation on the Dogger Bank offshore wind farm in the UK North Sea.The newbuild is of the VARD 4 12 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway. Vard to Design, Build Cable Layer for NCT Offshore

Shipbuilder and designer Vard, part of Fincantieri, said Friday that it had secured a contract to design and build a cable laying vessel for NCT Offshore in Denmark.The VARD 9 01 design vessel is designed by Vard Design in Ålesund, Norway. The hull will be built at Vard Tulcea in Romania, while the final outfitting, commissioning, and delivery will be carried out by one of Vard’s shipyards in Norway. Norwegian Government Backs Project to Develop Offshore Charging Solutions

The Norwegian government awarded Maritime CleanTech partner Vard Group and the Ocean Charger project partners 38 million NOK (approx. US$3.9 million) for the development of offshore charging solutions that would support zero-emissions operations at offshore wind farms.The Norwegian support scheme (The Green Platform Initiative) aims to accelerate the growth of green businesses in Norway. North Star Clinches More SOV Work at Dogger Bank Offshore Wind Farm

UK-based offshore vessel owner North Star Group has won another service operations vessel (SOV) contract at the Dogger Bank wind farm, this time for the third phase.North Star Group said Thursday it had secured a long-term charter worth about £90 million ($118,7 million) to deliver an additional ship for Dogger Bank C to support offshore wind technicians working in the field.The contract comes a week after SSE Renewables, with partner Equinor, reached financial close on Dogger Bank C, the third phase of what will be the world’s largest offshore wind farm, located in the UK North Sea.
