Ocean Installer has been awarded a contract for SURF support work in Brazil for Saipem. The contract which will see the Normand Clipper in Brazil for 8 months is valued at circa USD 50 million, with options to extend. Ocean Installer will support Saipem with their installation of multiple Steel Catenary Lazy Wave Risers, Free Standing Hybrid Risers and Export Pipelines for the Iracema and Pre-Salt projects in the Santos Basin Pre-Salt Area for Petrobras.

Mercury Marine produces 75,000th Verado L6 Outboard
Milestone comes less than 10 years after launch of platform. Mercury Marine, the world leader in commercial and recreational marine propulsion and technology, has produced its 75,000th Verado L6 outboard engine. The Verado six-cylinder was first launched in 2005 and covered 200 to 275hp; the Verado family now includes up to 300hp outboard engines. Global AIS: Genscape Spots Alaskan Crude Export VLCC
No Alaskan crude oil has been exported outside of the United States since 2004. Genscape Vesseltracker monitoring data showed that a cargo of Alaskan North Slope crude was loaded Sept. 26 at the Alaskan port of Valdez for delivery into the South Korean refining center of Yeosu, says a Genscape blog post. The U.S.-flagged tanker, Polar Discovery, is reported to have sailed from the ANS export terminal at Valdez, Alaska, for east Asia.
NAT Tankship Rescues 150 in Mediterranean
Nordic American Tankers Limited ("NAT") says the one of its vessels, the 'Nordic Passat' performed a rescue operation, involving 150 people in the Mediterranean last Saturday afternoon, September 27, 2014. The refugees were in a wooden boat with engine trouble. Nordic Passat was in an area South East of Sicily when it got involved in the rescuing of the refugees and brought them to Augusta in Italy this Monday morning.
