Nabors Posts Quarterly Loss as Drilling Activity Slows
Offshore driller Nabors Industries Ltd reported a quarterly loss, hurt by lower drilling activity amid a slump in global crude prices. The company posted a net loss of $891.1 million, or $3.08 per share, in the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, compared with a profit of $150.6 million, or 50 cents per share, a year earlier. Maersk Drilling Secures Contract for Newest Drillship
Maersk Drilling was awarded a contract from eni Ghana Exploration and Production Ltd. for employment of the newbuild drillship Maersk Voyager. The contract will see Maersk Voyager work on the Offshore Cape Three Points (OCTP) Project offshore Ghana with expected commencement in July 2015. The firm contract period is 3.5 years with an option to extend by one year, and the total estimated revenue from the firm contract is $545 million including mobilization and escalations. Claus V.
