Suez Canal Orders Two Cutter Suction Dredgers
The Egyptian Suez Canal Authority (SCA) has placed an order for two custom-built 29,190kW heavy-duty rock cutter suction dredgers (CSDs). The vessels will have an overall length of 147.4 meters and provide a maximum dredging depth of 35 meters. In addition, they will offer accommodation facilities for 73 people. Equipped with one submerged â and two inboard â dredge pumps, the installed cutter power will be 4,800kW.
Fincantieri Building Second Italian Navy Patrol Ship
A steel cutting ceremony for Italyâs next Multipurpose Offshore Patrol Ship (PPA) took place at Fincantieriâs shipyard in Riva Trigoso (Genova), officially marking the beginning of construction works on the second unit. The unit will be delivered in 2022 and it is part of the renewal plan of the surface operational lines of the Italian Navy vessels, approved by the Government and Parliament and started in May 2015. The steel cutting ceremony of the first PPA took place in February 2017.

New Dredger Delivered to Saudi Arabia
Damen Shipyards Group said it has delivered to Murjan Al-Sharq Marine Services a new Multi Cat 1908 fitted with a Damen DOP Submersible Dredge Pump 250 for added shallow-water dredging capacity. Murjan Al-Sharq Marine Services is based in Saudi Arabia. The company provides marine construction and maintenance, dredging, diving and subsea services. The companyâs new vessel, called Murjan 40, has been equipped with a Damen DOP 250.
