Maritime Firms Launch PntGuard to Counter GPS Spoofing Surge

UKHO to Host ‘S-100 in focus’ Panel at London International Shipping Week 2025

Sanmar Shipyards Delivers Tug to Buksér og Berging

Sanmar Shipyards has delivered an environmentally responsible tugboat to Buksérog Berging.Based on the RAmparts 2400SX-MKII design, exclusively developed in collaboration with Canadian naval architects Robert Allan Ltd., the vessel was originally constructed as Boğaçay LXV and has been renamed BOSS by her new owners. Designed for maneuverability, operational efficiency, and all-weather reliability, BOSS measures 24.40 meters in length, with a molded beam of 12 meters, a least molded depth of 4.5 meters, and a navigational draft of approximately 5.45 meters.

Bergen Engines to Power Havbryn’s New Stern Trawler

Bergen Engines announced a new contract with VARD to supply a Bergen B33:45L9P propulsion engine to the Norwegian owner Havbryn AS, a part of Strand Rederi. The vessel will be built in VARD’s 8 02 design and operate on a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion system, minimizing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions while in operation.The new stern trawler, with a length of 80.4 meters and a beam of 16.7 meters, is being constructed with an ice-strengthened hull according to Ice-1A standards, and it will feature an advanced H/G processing factory, and spacious cargo areas.

Rem Offshore Orders New CSOV from Vard

Norway-based offshore vessel owner Rem Offshore has signed a contract with shipbuilder Vard for the design and construction of a new commissioning service operation vessel (CSOV) for offshore wind services.This will be the third CSOV Vard will deliver to Rem Offshore. The first two, REM Power and REM Wind, were delivered in 2023 and 2024 respectively.The CSOV is tailored to provide services during the construction, operation, and maintenance of offshore wind farms worldwide.It will feature VARD 4 19 design, developed by Vard Design in Ålesund.

Anschütz completed the Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of its Warship Integrated Navigation and Bridge System (WINBS) for the first ship of the new Type 31 Inspiration Class for the UK Royal Navy. Anschütz, as part of the Thales led T31 Missions Systems team, is delivering the first Integrated Bridge and Navigation System for the Babcock Type 31 Arrowhead 140 frigates in the New Year.The FAT was carried out by Anschuetz UK Ltd., who are responsible for the integration, testing and commissioning of the Type 31 WINBS.

Anschütz Advances the Autonomous Bridge System

As part of the Clean Autonomous Public Transportation Network (CAPTN) initiative, Anschütz' research into autonomous systems and assistance systems onboard ships that support navigators has made progress in 2023. In the Remote Operating Centre (ROC) which is set up on land at Anschütz, the MV Wavelab -- a research catamaran that is operating on a maritime test field on the Kiel Fjord in Germany -- is monitored. Part of the ROC is a complete digital twin with all the data provided by the various existing and experimental sensors and systems on board the Wavelab.

RH Marine to Provide Technology for New ASW Frigate Quartet Destined for Dutch, Belgian Navies

Damen Naval, a naval shipbuilding division of the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group,  has signed a contract with the first Dutch supplier for the four new Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Frigates to be built for the Dutch and Belgian Navies. Netherlands-based RH Marine will supply the Integrated Mission Management System (IMMS), the Integrated Navigation Bridge System (INBS), and the Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) for each of the four frigates for the Dutch and Belgian Navies.
