GOGL Acquires New Vessel
Norway based dry bulk shipping company Golden Ocean Group Limited (GOGL) has taken delivery of the second vessel, Sea Monterrey (to be renamed Golden Monterrey). On October 16, 2017 GOGL announced that it has entered into agreements to acquire two modern Capesize vessels from affiliates of Hemen Holding Limited, a company indirectly controlled by trusts established by John Fredriksen for the benefit of his immediate family (Hemen), the Company's largest shareholder, at a purchase price of USD 43.0 million per vessel. The first vessel, Golden Behike, was delivered in November 2017.
First Vessel Booked in at A&P Birkenhead
A&P Group has confirm that it will soon be docking its first vessel at A&P Birkenhead since the facility was purchased in 2001. The European Envoy, a 4,267dwt passenger vessel owned by P&O European Ferries (Irish Sea) will be arriving at the Birkenhead facility at the end of July for a dry dock and repair programme.
Evergreen, China Shipping Cooperate on Trades
The Evergreen Line and China Shipping Container Lines have agreed to cooperate on Asia-US West Coast, Asia-Europe and Asia-Mexico-US East Coast containership services commencing June 2009. The agreement was signed by First Vice Group Chairman of the Evergreen Group, S S Lin and Chairman of the China Shipping Container Lines, S D Lee on 27 May in Shanghai, China. Evergreen upgrades its Hong Kong, Taiwan-US West Coast service (service code: HTW for Evergreen and AAS for CSCL) of five 8,000 TEU vessels. Kaohsiung - Xiamen - Hong Kong - Yantian -Los Angeles -Oakland - Kaohsiung. China Shipping upgrades its North/Central China to US West Coast service (service code: CPS for Evergreen and AAC for CSCL) of five 8,000 TEU vessels.
Kleven Launch 116 m Yacht
Norwegian ship builder Kleven launched its build no 370 today – a 116 metre long Expedition Support Vessel. This is the second vessel from Kleven to Mr Graeme Hart, and as with the first vessel, Mr Hart and his family attended the launch seremony at the yard in Ulsteinvik, Norway. Bourbon Chooses PC Maritime ECDIS
PC Maritime’s Navmaster ECDIS has been ordered for Bourbon’s latest generation IMR (Inspection, Maintenance and Repair) vessels being built in Zheijiang shipyard, China. Four dual Navmaster ECDIS have been supplied, with a further five Bourbon Evolution 800 to be equipped this year and in 2014. Operating a fleet of 458 vessels, Bourbon is a major player in the offshore marine services market. The first vessel equipped, Bourbon Evolution 802, is operating off the coast of Nigeria and reports good satisfaction levels with the Navmaster ECDIS.

ST Marine Celebrates Naming of Vessels
Singapore Technologies Marine Ltd (ST Marine), the marine arm of Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering), held the Naming Ceremony today for the second Patrol Vessel (PV), RNOV Shinas, and the interim delivery for the first vessel RNOV Al Seeb, built for Royal Navy of Oman (RNO). The Guest-of-Honour was the Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman, Rear Admiral (RADM) Abdullah bin Khamis bin Abdullah al-Raisi. ST Marine won the contract to design and build four PVs for the RNO in 2012.
Containerships’ LNG Vessel’s Building is in Progress
Building of Containerships’ new Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) vessels is progressing at Wenchong Shipyard, Guangzhou. The construction of three upcoming vessels is in action in the Chinese shipyard. For the first vessel, two double bottom blocks are already under erection on slipway. In addition, six blocks have been painted and over 80 blocks are accepted. Over 60 blocks for the first vessel are under construction. Two blocks of the second vessel have been accepted, and almost 50 are under construction. Steel cutting of the third vessel also started on May 2017.
DCT Gdansk Handles Largest Ship to Date
The arrival of the 2732TEU Racha Bhum at DCT Gdansk’s terminal in on September 1 was the first vessel to call at the deepwater terminal on its maiden voyage. It is reported to be the biggest ship so far handled by DCT Gdansk. And, it is the first vessel to load containers at this Polish terminal for direct carriage to . Racha Bhum was delivered to the Singaporean carrier Regional Container Lines (RCL) by the Polish shipyard Stocznia Gdynia at the end of August and chartered by Hapag-Lloyd for her delivery voyage to . It loaded 1002 empty containers, equivalent to over 1500TEU.

The Saigon Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry Company (Saigon Shipmarin) signed a contract with Japan's Kanematsu Corp. to build two 6,500-ton cargo vessels. The vessels will be the first cargo vessels that Saigon Shipmarin, a member of the Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin), has built for export. The first vessel is expected to be handed over in March 2007 and the second, in July. The Saigon Shipbuilding and Maritime Industry Company (Saigon Shipmarin) signed a contract with Japan's Kanematsu Corp. to build two 6,500-tonne cargo vessels. These are the first cargo vessels that Saigon Shipmarin, a member of the Viet Nam Shipbuilding Industry Corporation (Vinashin), has built for export. The first vessel is expected to be handed over in March 2007 and the second, in July. The company has invested over VND 300 billion (over US $18 million) to expand its production scale, train technical workers, and raise its capacity to build and repair 10,000-12,500 tonne ships. A&P Birkenhead Welcomes First Vessel
A&P Birkenhead has drydocked its first vessel since A&P Group acquired the facility in 2001. The vessel involved is a 1,537dwt general cargo vessel Kay L, which is owned by German shipping company Reederei M. Lauterjung KG, Emden. The vessel was trading in the Irish Sea area when it suffered rudder problems and had to enter dry dock for repairs. The vessel will undergo some additional general repairs whilst in dry dock. General Manager at A&P Birkenhead, Martyn Drye commented: "Our workforce has moved swiftly to ensure that the dry dock was available immediately ensuring that we maintained an efficient service to the customer. Our engineers are working with the owners Superintendent to ensure the vessel has a speedy return to active service.”
K-Sea Signs Barge Contract Extension
K-Sea Transportation Partners LP, said it signed a $40m contract extension for barge construction with the manufacturing arm of American Commercial Lines. The company said the construction of four 50,000 barrel tank barges will begin in first quarter of 2009, with delivery of the first vessel scheduled for December of that year. The three other vessels will be completed in three month increments after that, K-Sea said. The contract extends the barge construction agreement through 2010. Source: AP
Excel Buys Two Vessels
According to reports, Excel Maritime said it plans to buy two Supramax bulk carriers for $126m, or $63m per vessel. The first vessel has a capacity of 55,567 deadweight tons and was built at Oshima Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in Japan. The second vessel has a capacity of more than 53,206 deadweight tons and was built by Imabari Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. Both ships were built in 2005. Both vessels will be delivered to Excel Maritime in the fourth quarter.
Euroship Installs Software on New Bulk Carrier Vessels
U.K.-based Marine Software Ltd. have delivered Marine Planned Maintenance, Marine Storekeeper and Marine Purchasing software packages to Ship Managers Euroship Services for their new build handysize Bulk Carrier vessels, Lowlands Saguenay and Lowlands Boreas (35,000 DWT). Constructed at the Zhejiang East Coast Shipbuilding yard, these Cobelfret owned vessels will also be equipped with Marine Software's integrated barcode package to assist with on-board spare parts management.
Global Carriers Awards Contracts to Ningbo Shipyard
Global Carriers Bhd has awarded two shipbuilding contracts worth a combined $21.76m to Ningbo Shipyard Co Ltd. The contracts are for Ningbo Shipyard to build two double-hull product oil tankers for Global Carriers, the company said. Damen Receives Jumbo Order
The CargoVessels Division of Damen Shipyards signed a $62.3 million contract with Dutch shipping company, Jumbo, for the building of two heavy lift ships, each measuring 469 ft. (143.1 m) with a beam of 87 ft. (26.5 m). Reportedly the largest and most advanced heavy lift ships in the world, they have a lifting capacity of 1,600 tons, and will be constructed at Damen's Romanian yard. The first vessel will be delivered during the first quarter of 2003 - the second will arrive in the third quarter.

Master Marine Delivers Z Drive Towboat
Master Marine, Inc. delivered its first 2,000 hp Z Drive inland river towboat last month. The towboat represents the first vessel (Entech Design) of this series by the yard. Flensburger Gets Orders for RoRos
Cobelfret NV of Belgium has exercised two options for Flensburger’s ConRo 220 type. The new vessels measure 641 ft. The first vessel will be delivered in November 2010, and the second vessel in February 2011. Since 1998 FSG has acquired 38 contracts for RoRo Ferries.
New Zealand's New Navy Vessel Ready for SeaTrials
The first vessel in the New Zealand government's $500 million navy upgrade has come off its slipway in a Dutch shipbuilding yard. It will be used to carry troops and cargo, allowing them to be disembarked at sea. It has been built as part of Project Protector, with seven vessels planned. Genco Takes Delivery of First Capesize Vessel
Genco Shipping & Trading Limited announced that it has taken delivery of the Genco Augustus, a January 2007-built 180,000 dwt Capesize vessel. The Genco Augustus is the first vessel to be delivered to the Company under Genco's previously announced agreement on July 18, 2007 to acquire nine Capsize vessels from companies within the Metrostar Management Corporation group. The Genco Augustus is currently on charter with Cargill International S.A. at a rate of $45,263 per day, less a 5% third party brokerage commission. The charter is due to expire between December 2009 and April 2010.
iSURVEY Awarded Two-year Contract with Island Offshore
iSURVEY has been awarded a two-year contract with offshore vessel owner, Island Offshore Management, which will see iSURVEY AS provide positioning services to Island Offshore as part of a call off arrangement. Operations have already commenced on the first vessel, Island’s DP2 Light construction vessel, the Island Valiant. Following current well head cutting work in the Danish sector, iSURVEY will be supporting Island Offshore for further subsea work in the North Sea.
