The provider of lifting solutions, Kalmar has been awarded a contract to supply Antwerp Euroterminal NV (AET) with six Kalmar forklifts of varying specifications, including one fully electric model.The order, which also includes a Kalmar Complete Care service contract covering all the machines, was booked in Cargotec's 2019 Q2 order intake with delivery scheduled to be completed during Q4 2019.AET, is the largest multipurpose terminal in Europe and home to vessels of the Grimaldi Group.

MAN Energy Solutions has won the order to supply 18 × MAN B&W 9S50ME-C9.6 TIER II-compliant main engines for 9 × 7,800 lane-meter RoRo vessels intended for operation in the Mediterranean Sea. Rolls-Royce Wins Propulsion Contract for Nine RoRo Vessels
Rolls-Royce Commercial Marine has won a significant contract to deliver the propulsion system to nine vessels to be built by Nanjing Jinling Shipyard Co in China for the Italian Grimaldi Group.The nine 238 meter long vessels are so called Ro-Ro vessels (Roll-on-Roll-off) designed to transport over 7,800 linear meters of rolling units, equivalent to about 500 trailers. They are named the Grimaldi Green 5th Generation, and will be hybrid powered by combining use of traditional fossil fuels during operation and battery power when in port. Kongsberg to Power Grimaldi’s Nine New RoRos
Kongsberg Maritime said it has been awarded contracts with Chinese shipbuilder Nanjing Jinling Shipyard Co. to deliver power and hybrid systems to nine Roll on – Roll off (Ro-Ro) vessels ordered by Grimaldi Group, Italy. The contracts are valued at more than NOK 400 million ($47 million) and include an option for three additional vessels increasing the total value to more than NOK 500 Million ($59 million).Due for delivery from 2020, the new vessels will be 238 meters long, with a beam of 34 meters and gross tonnage of 64,000 tons.
Grimaldi Group: Alfa Laval PureSOx for Five ACL Vessels
The Grimaldi Group signed an agreement for PureSOx connectivity services on five vessels operated by Atlantic Container Line (ACL). The services will provide not only compliance monitoring, but also valuable data for use in optimizing PureSOx operation. The Grimaldi Group has been using PureSOx for exhaust gas cleaning aboard its vessels since 2014. ACL, a Grimaldi Group company specialized in transatlantic cargo shipping, has hybrid PureSOx scrubber systems installed on all five of its Generation 4 (G4) vessels: Atlantic Sail, Atlantic Sea, Atlantic Sky, Atlantic Star and Atlantic Sun.

HANSEN reports it has signed a contract with Chinese shipbuilder Nanjing Jinling Shipyard to develop the basic design of a number of large RoRo vessels, based on a Grimaldi/KNUD E. Finnlines Sells Ro-pax Vessel to Grimaldi Group
Finnlines Plc said it has sold a 1999-built ro-pax vessel MS Finneagle to the Grimaldi Group. The 18-year-old MS Finneagle was chartered out to the Grimaldi Group from June 2017, and it will be delivered to the Grimaldi Group in October 2017. The freight capacity of the vessel is 2,459 lane meters, and passenger capacity is 835 passengers. Finnlines said the sale is part of its “strategy to optimize the use of [its] vessels and routes in order to improve its profitability.” “The sale does not affect the provision of our cargo and passenger service level offered to the customers,” Finnlines said.

Low-Carbon Shipping Alliance Gains Momentum
Days after the announcement by International Maritime Organization (IMO) of the Global Industry Alliance (GIA), another commercial company has joined the initiative to help shipping and related industries transition towards a low-carbon future.
