Norwegian offshore support vessel owner Havila Shipping has secured contract with Equinor for its platform supply vessels (PSVs).The contract has been signed for Havila Herøy PSV, for an operation planned to be 136 days.The start is expected to be in first half of March, the company said.Built in Havyard Leirvik in 2009, Havila Herøy PSV is 80.4 meters long and has a deck space of 805 m2.

Equinor has extended the contract for Havila Shipping’s platform supply vessel (PSV) Havila Charisma.Equinor has exercised one year option for Havila Charisma until December 2026.According to Havila Shipping, Equinor has an option for one year thereafter, until December 2027.Havila Charisma is 2012-built PSV of Havyard 833L design. The PSV is 92.8 meters long, with a breadth of 19.6 meters.

Norwegian offshore support vessel owner Havila Shipping has signed a contract with Peterson Den Helder for its platform supply vessel (PSV) Havila Borg.The contract, signed on market terms, is planned to be in direct continuation of existing contract for a firm period until late fourth quarter 2026, with further options for extension up to two years.To remind, Havila Shipping and Peterson Den Helder signed a contract for the PSV back in March 2025.Built in 2009, Havila Borg features Havyard 832 design. The PSV is 78.6 meters long, with the breadth of 17.6 meters and deck of 800 m2.

Brunvoll has been chosen to supply azimuth propulsion thrusters and thruster control systems for Norled’s four next hybrid ferries.The vessels will service the routes between Stokkvågen, Lovund, and Træna in Norway. Designed by LMG Marin, the vessels will be built at the Tersan Havyard Shipyard.Norwegian ferry operator Norled has won the contract for the routes based on a 90% reduction in emissions.Each ferry will have a battery capacity of 8000 kWh, and therefore the largest battery capacity compared to other ferries in Norway.The routes support traffic between Stokkvågen and Lovund…

Norwegian offshore support vessel owner Havila Shipping has entered into contract with Peterson Den Helder for its platform supply vessel (PSV) Havila Borg.The contract, whose value was not disclosed, is for a firm period of two wells estimated to 200 days.It also includes optional periods for eight wells each estimated to 65 days.The start of operations is expected to be within two weeks, Havila Shipping said.Built in 2009, Havila Borg features Havyard 832 design. Eqva, an owner of industrial service companies, said Monday it would divest Havyard Leirvik Yard in Norway to a Turkish buyer.“The sale of Havyard Leirvik will free up important resources, both human and financial, enabling a concentrated focus on further development of Eqva’s current industrial portfolio, and look for new investment opportunities,” said Even Matre Ellingsen, Chair of the Board of Eqva. Havila Shipping announced it has secured contract extensions for two of its platform supply vessels (PSV).The Norwegian offshore support vessel owner said on Tuesday it has entered into an agreement with Equinor Energy AS for the PSV Havila Clipper for extension of the existing contract until June 2024. It is also agreed an optional period for 6 months for the period to December 2024.In addition, Havila said it entered into contract with Peterson Den Helder BV for two optional periods each of one year, for the PSV Havila Borg.

It is 78.6 meters long, and has a deck space of 800 m2. The Havila Heroy, currently in Den Helder, the Netherlands, was also delivered by Havyard in 2009. It is 80.4 meters long and has a deck space of 805 m2.

Offshore wind developer Ørsted and vessel owner Esvagt on Friday announced an investment in what they claim to be the world’s first service operation vessel (SOV) that can operate on green fuels. "The SOV will be powered by batteries and dual fuel engines, capable of sailing on renewable e-methanol, produced from wind energy and biogenic carbon, which will lead to a yearly emission reduction of approx. 4,500 tonnes of CO2," Esvagt said."The maritime sector urgently needs new green fuels, which today come at a higher cost than the fossil-based alternatives.

Havyard said its shipyard in Leirvik won a contract with Fjord1 for modification of the car ferry MF Lote, a ferry that will operate the route Skarberget–Bognes over the Tysfjord in Nordland county.The conversion contract is seen as strategically important by the shipyard, particularly as it nears completion of a large-scale newbuild program and shifts its focus towards the modification and repair market. Standard Drilling Plc. has agreed to sell the Standard Olympus platform supply vessel for $7.5 million to an undisclosed buyer."The sale of Standard Olympus will result in a gain for Standard Drilling of gross USD 1.3 million," the company said.The vessel is a large Platform Supply Vessel (PSV), built at Havyard Ship Technology AS, Norway, in 2014, with 800m2 deck space.
