Arctech Helsinki Shipyard Looks for New Investor as Sanctions Bite
Russian state-owned United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) is looking for a new owner for its Arctech Helsinki shipyard as sanctions against the holding company hamper business, the head of the shipyard said on Tuesday. The shipyard is the world’s biggest builder of vessels that can navigate ice-covered waters, and it has expected more orders as melting sea ice opens the Arctic to more shipping, mining and oil drilling.

EURONAV Opts for SERTICA Fleet Management
After a rigorous selection process, tanker shipping company EURONAV has chosen the SERTICA Fleet Management System by Danish software and engineering company Logimatic. EURONAV, which operates some of the world’s largest tanker vessels, has chosen the entire SERTICA product suite onboard its 52 vessels for improved maintenance and vessel management. There are currently more than 32 customers worldwide and 964 active vessels running SERTICA Fleet Management system.
Concordia Eyes Growing Product Tanker Market
Swedish tanker shipping company Concordia Maritime said it has signed a contract to charter in another IMO2/3 class MR tanker while also extending an expiring charter of another MR tanker. The new charter contract will run for two years from the time the newbuild is delivered in January 2018, with multiple options to extend. The other MR tanker charter contract, which expired in November, will be extended for a minimum of one year.
