Group Ocean Orders Two Damen Workboats

Dutch based Damen Shipyards Group said it has signed a contract with Canada’s Group Ocean for the delivery of two new workboats that will provide dredging support services at an oil sands project in northern Canada. The new vessels, both Modular Multi Cats 1205, are made of standard, container-sized units that enable easy transport. The versatile Multi Cat workboat used in many sectors for operations such as towing and anchor-handling, dive support, marine engineering, offshore energy operations and for dredging and dredging support.

Grand Bahama Shipyard Expands Sales Team

Grand Bahama Shipyard Limited (GBSL) has added three regional sales directors to its Marketing and Sales Division, with posts in the Americas, Europe and Asia/Middle East. According to the shipyard, their prime objectives will be to increase yard exposure, as well as develop future projects with existing and new customers for their refit, refurbishment or revitalization projects. Andre Szadzinski joined GBSL in August 2016 as Regional Sales Director for North and South America.

Infinova Hires Regional Sales Manager

Infinova, a manufacturer of complete CCTV security/surveillance and Fiber Optic solutions, has hired Robert Connaghan as Regional Sales Manager in the United States covering: Washington DC, Virginia, Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania (Eastern), New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine.

Philadelphia Gear Appoints Biddle As NE Regional Sales Manager

Philadelphia Gear Corporation announced the promotion of Scott Biddle, 36, to the newly created position of Northeast Regional Sales Manager. Biddle's new position includes management of sales growth throughout the eastern U.S. - an area already covered by himself, several Philadelphia Gear sales personnel, and three independent firms who represent Philadelphia Gear in their respective territories - along with the expansion of his own sales territory to include eastern Pennsylvania and northern New Jersey. As a regional sales manager, he will work to ensure that Philadelphia Gear customers are serviced in a fashion that meets their immediate needs.

Wallace Named Commercial Sales Manager, YANMAR America

YANMAR America has promoted Terry Wallace from his current role as Regional Sales Manager for the Industrial Engine Division to Sales Manager for the Commercial Marine Division reporting to Yutaka Tanno, Commercial Marine Product Manager, effective January 3, 2017. In his new role, Wallace will be responsible for developing and achieving the commercial marine sales performance goals and objectives by continuously driving sales growth through all channels, creating and implementing effective sales programs and working collaboratively with other staff members to achieve performance objectives.

Drew Names Medved Regional Sales Manager

Maritime Sales Veteran Steve Medved Named New Regional Sales Manager at Drew Marine. Drew Marine welcomed Steve Medved as Regional Sales Manager, North America on May 1, 2012. Mr. Medved will be responsible for executing Drew Marine’s technical solution strategies in North America. WTS Names Bannerman Vice President, Americas

Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions has strengthened its senior management team with the appointment of Philip Bannerman as Vice President, Americas Region. Bannerman has been with the Wilh. Wilhelmsen Group since 1997 in a number of sales and marketing roles, most recently as Regional Sales Director of Wilhelmsen Ships Service in the Americas. Wilhelmsen Technical Solutions has been especially successful in the cruise sector in  delivering its Energy Management Technologies (EMT) concept and Bannerman says the company has the potential to increase its penetration in this sector.

Navionics Makes Changes to Sales Team

Navionics announced two changes to its national sales management team. The company has hired Tshombe Moore as the new West Coast Regional Sales Manager and Terry Crockett, the former west coast manager, will relocate to become the Southeast Regional Sales Manager. Moore will support dealers, distributors and retail customers in California, Nevada, Oregon, Washington and British Columbia, while Crockett will service accounts in Florida and Georgia. A seasoned sales professional with over twenty years of experience, Moore brings a knowledge of marine electronics and customer service skill to the team. Crockett is a twenty-year veteran in the marine industry and has been a strong member of the Navionics team for the last four years.

Schottel Canada Opens Quebec Offices

Reflecting the growing volume of shipbuilding projects and expansion of its customer base in the region, Schottel has opened a new sales office in the Quebec City, Quebec area. Service and parts support will be coordinated through this office with parts and service personnel being supplied by the Houma, LA office.

Renishaw Appoints Southwest Sales Engineer

Schermerhorn brings 11 years Renishaw experience to customers in Texas and Louisiana. Renishaw announces the appointment of Sheila Schermerhorn as regional sales manager for the Southwest region, covering Texas and Louisiana. Schermerhorn provides applications engineering solutions for Renishaw's machine tool, calibration, CMM and styli products. She has been with Renishaw for more than 11 years, and most recently served as regional sales manager for in the Mid-Atlantic region. A graduate of Alfred State College in New York, Schermerhorn holds a degree in mechanical engineering.

Lang Expands Management Team

Kenneth Fader was named national accounts manager for the eastern region; Mark Pumphret as eastern regional sales manager, and Jon Walker as director of government contracts, marine & international sales.

Meucci Promoted to Sales Manager ZF Marine Electronics

ZF Marine Electronics has promoted Jim Meucci to Sales Manager. Meucci started with Mathers Controls over 25 years ago, and most recently held the position of Regional Sales Manager at ZF Marine Electronics headquarters in Mukilteo, Wash. In his new position, Meucci has overall sales responsibility for ZF Marine Electronics' controls systems business in the North America region. ZF Marine Electronics LLC, (formerly ZF Mathers LLC) supplies both electronic and pneumatic vessel control systems. Product brands for the controls group include ClearCommand, MiniCommand, MicroCommander, SkiCommand and SmartCommand.

Management Dynamics Names Executive Appointments

Management Dynamics announced the executive-level appointments of Albert Cooke as director of sales operations and Tom Wyville as director of mid-Atlantic sales. Cooke will be responsible for assisting the company's regional sales directors in direct selling efforts as well as managing the company's indirect channel. Wyville will be responsible for selling the company's Rate Explorer solution to importers, exporters, and transportation intermediaries in the Mid-Atlantic region. Today's appointments represent the fifth and sixth hires in as many months as Management Dynamics continues to build out its sales team to deliver contract automation solutions to the global importer, exporter, and NVOCC markets.

Globe Wireless Opens Hong Kong, Hamburg Offices

Globe Wireless, a provider of maritime communications solutions, has opened new Sales and Customer Support offices in Hong Kong, SAR and Hamburg, Germany. The new offices significantly enhance Globe Wireless' ability to serve the expanding Asian and European maritime communications markets. "Hong Kong, as an international trading center and a focus for Asian shipping, is a natural location for Globe Wireless to increase business activities. The region's rebounding economy has once again created a huge demand on Hong Kong's port facilities and reinforced its role as a gateway for world trade," remarked Rob Lockett, Vice President of Sales, Asia.

ACL Establishes National Sales Force

American Commercial Lines Inc. announced it has established a national sales force in key geographic locations. The Regional Sales Directors include Mr. Vanta Coda -- Gulf Region, Mr. Gabe Forir -- Midwest Region, Mr. Michael Wiercinski -- MidAtlantic/Northeast, Mr. Neil Grossman -- Southeast Region, Mr. John Bryan -- Pittsburgh, and Mr. Sean Smith -- Ohio River Valley. The new directors have extensive backgrounds in rail, barge, 3PL logistics, chemical transportation, pulp and paper transportation, trucking, and truck brokerage.

Alps Wire Rope Corporation announced John Shwartz as Northwest Regional Sales Manager. Shwartz, has over 25 years of sales experience in the crane industry including selling experience in boom trucks, carry decks, rough terrains and crawler crane markets.  

Linfoot Named Regional Sales Manager, MOL Canada

MOL Canada Inc. announced that Travis Linfoot will take over as the new regional sales manager, domiciled in Vancouver, B.C. Linfoot will report to Tim Harrington, vice president, Canada and will focus on outside sales functions for Western Canada. Mr. Linfoot studied at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT) in the Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) before joining Gillespie-Munro in 2003. His 11 years in the industry includes operations, management, and commercial responsibilities in Western Canada from within the freight forwarding, NVOCC, and liner business segments.  

Samson Makes Changes

Samson announced the following organizational changes: Tony Bon has been promoted to chief operating officer. Bon has been with Samson for over 30 years. As COO, Bon will have overall responsibility for Samson’s sales, operations, and research & development activities. Mark Swiackey has been promoted to vice president of Operations. Swiackey, previously the vice president of Manufacturing, will be responsible for overseeing manufacturing plants in Ferndale, WA and Lafayette, LA as well as purchasing, logistics and manufacturing engineering. Larry Unser has been promoted to regional sales manager. Unser’s primary responsibility will be Samson’s Commercial Fishing Division. Craig Kelly and Dennis Sherman have been promoted to category sales managers within the Commercial Marine division.

Navico Appoints New Regional Sales Managers

Navico, parent company to the Lowrance, Simrad Yachting and B&G brands, announced the hiring of two new Regional Sales Managers, Chris Melena and Russ Stevens. Melena and  Stevens will drive sales and support dealers, distributors and retail customers in the Great Lakes and New England regions, respectively. Each Sales Manager has over a decade of experience in the marine industry and brings a wealth of talent to the Navico sales team. Prior to joining Navico, Melena was a Regional Sales Manager with Raymarine in their Great Lakes territory. He entered the marine industry in 1993 and has held positions at Captain’s Marine Supply and West Marine. Mr. Melena grew up boating on Lake Erie and is an experienced sailor. He is a graduate of Miami University and resides in Catawba Island, Ohio.

Ieva And Cassaras Promoted At Ashland Specialty Chemical

Drew Marine, a division of Ashland Specialty Chemical Company, recently announced two promotions in its Boonton, N.J., headquarters. Ron Ieva, who has held positions at Drew Marine as senior product manager, area manager for the Southeast and Caribbean, and cruise industry business manager, has been promoted to regional sales manager for the Americas. Mike Cassaras, who has been southeast and Caribbean area manager and regional sales manager for the Americas, will now assume global responsibility as business manager for Drew Marine Safety. Prior to his positions at Drew, he was President and Founder of Atlas Marine Services, Inc.
