Lehmann Marine Provides Battery Systems for Hamburg Electric Harbor Ferries
Lehmann Marine is contributing to the Port of Hamburg's transition towards sustainability by supplying the battery systems for three new, fully electric passenger ferries. This project represents the largest order in the company’s history. Built by SET Schiffbau- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft Tangermünde mbH on behalf of HADAG Seetouristik und Fährdienst AG, the vessels will be deployed in the Port of Hamburg as HADAG’s first purely electrically propelled ferries. The core component of the new Type 2030e ferries is Lehmann Marine’s modular CUBE energy storage system.
Lloyd’s Register Strengthens Leadership in China with New Appointments
Lloyd’s Register (LR) has further enhanced its capabilities in China with the announcement of three new senior appointments. Tianxiang Li (TX), LR’s Director of Global Technical Support Office (TSO), has been appointed as President for Greater China. He will lead senior client relationships and strategic engagement, strengthening alignment between LR’s global technical leadership and the priorities of Chinese owners, yards and designers. TX joined LR in 2008 and held leadership positions in the Technical Support Office since 2011.
GTT Receives HD KSOE Order for LNG Carrier Tank Design
GTT announced that it has received an order in the fourth quarter of 2025 from HD Korea Shipbuilding & Offshore Engineering (HD KSOE) for the tank design of three new Liquefied Natural Gas Carriers (LNGCs).The LNGCs will be built by the shipyard HD Hyundai Samho on behalf of the Greek ship-owner Capital Clean Energy Carriers Corp. Each vessel will offer a capacity of 174,000 m³ and will be equipped with cryogenic tanks featuring the Mark III Flex membrane containment system developed by GTT.Delivery of the vessels is scheduled between the third quarter of 2028 and the first quarter of 2029.
Damen Delivers New Tugs to Fairplay Towage Group and Louis Meyer
On November 21, Damen Shipyards Group delivered three new tugs, consisting of an RSD Tug 2513 named Fairplay-98, and two ASD Tugs 2312 named Fairplay-86 and Fairplay-87. The RSD Tugs 2513 and one ASD Tug 2312 have been delivered direct to the Fairplay Towage Group, while the other ASD Tug 2312 was delivered to Neue Schleppdampfschiffsreederei Louis Meyer GmbH & Co. KG. This vessel has also joined the Fairplay Towage fleet on a long-term bareboat charter.
