The U.S. Coast Guard said it conducted multiple rescues during a mudslide response in Santa Barbara County, Tuesday. At approximately 9 a.m., Tuesday, a Coast Guard Sector San Diego MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter crew launched to assist Santa Barbara County Fire Department with rescues after heavy rains caused mudslides in the Santa Barbara County area. New Pilot Boat Delivered to Alabama Pilots
The Alabama Pilot, Inc. in Mobile, Ala., has taken delivery of Dixey, a newly built Chesapeake Class pilot boat from Gladding-Hearn Shipbuilding, Duclos Corporation. With length overall of 53.6ā, beam of 17.8ā, and draft of 4.8ā, the all-aluminum pilot boat features the C. Raymond Hunt-designed Deep-V hull. It is powered by twin Caterpillar C-18 diesel engines, each delivering 671Bhp at 2100 rpm and a top speed of 27 knots.

In March, the National WWII Museum in New Orleans launched its reconstructed PT-305, built locally by Higgins Industries in 1943.
