WQIS President Hobbie to Retire
Richard Hobbie III will retire from his position as President & CEO of the Water Quality Insurance Syndicate (WQIS) after four decades as underwriter, claims manager and board member. Hobbie and the board of managers have agreed upon January 1, 2015 as his official retirement date, and Rich will be available as a consultant to WQIS until Dec. 31, 2017 under the agreement. “This is something that I’ve been considering for a while now, but I needed to feel absolutely sure that WQIS was going to be in good hands,” Hobbie said.

Teekay Announces Senior Management Change
Teekay Corporation announced that Geir Sekkesaeter, Senior Vice President, Conventional Fleet Operations, and Head, Technical, Safety and Quality, has decided to leave Teekay for personal reasons, effective as of March 31, 2013. Felix Named VP at Carlile Transportation
Carlile Transportation Systems, Inc., a TOTE Logistics company, has named Larry Felix as their new Vice President of Business Development. Larry will provide leadership over commercial development in Alaska and throughout the Lower 48. Vancouver Shipyards Appoints Tinto as VP
Seaspan’s Vancouver Shipyards has announced the appointment of Tony Tinto to Vice President, Planning & Estimating. Tinto joined Vancouver Shipyards (VSY) in 2006 as a Project Manager, before moving over to affiliate company Vancouver Drydock in 2007 in a similar capacity. In 2012, Tinto returned to VSY as Director, Planning & Production Control, and was appointed to the role of interim Vice President, Planning & Estimating in November 2016. Prior to his arrival at Seaspan in 2006, Tinto worked as a Design & Engineering Manager for Westbay SonShip & Yachts.
