The city of Milford, CT, took delivery of a 21-ft. Ribcraft 6.5 for its fire department’s marine unit, replacing a smaller, 20-year-old vessel. This larger specialized model enhances their search and rescue capabilities while providing a safe platform for expanded environmental protection efforts on Long Island Sound.Operating on Long Island Sound and its tributaries, the department uses the RIBCRAFT to support their search and rescue missions to reach areas their larger fire boat cannot access.

RIBCRAFT Delivers Patrol Boat to Coventry, RI Police Department
Coventry, Rhode Island recently took delivery of a 19’ RIBCRAFT 5.85 for their police department. This specialized RIB enhances their patrol and response capabilities while providing a safe platform for public safety efforts during on-water events. Located in the Pawtuxet River Valley, the department primarily operates on Johnson’s Pond but needed a vessel that could easily be towed to other waterways in town as needed. RIBCRAFT worked with the Police Chief and Lieutenant to understand the department’s needs and outfit the 5.85 to meet mission requirements.
BRIX Marine Launches RHIB with “Swim Club” Side Door
BRIX Marine has launched a 12.5-meter RHIB, Olohana, designed and built for Hawaii Nautical, one of Hawaii’s ocean experience providers.The RHIB hull design by Naiad is paired with triple Yamaha F300 outboard engines to handle a wide range of activities in diverse marine conditions.Olohana includes a first-of-its-kind boarding design. BRIX and Naiad worked together to create a “swim club” side door in the collar system. These doors have an aluminum structure that hinges on the bottom, dropping to extend the side decks outboard.

The vessel features a 48-foot hull, a 17’ 6” beam, and a lightship weight of approximately 31,000 pounds.
Metal Shark Building 22 Vessels for Jamaica's Coast Guard
Louisiana-based boat builder Metal Shark announced it has won a contract to build 22 welded-aluminum high-speed surface interceptor vessels for the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF).JDF has selected the Metal Shark 36 Fearless, a high-performance center console craft proven in service with multiple military, law enforcement, and first responder agencies worldwide. Procured via direct purchase, these new surface interceptor vessels will be used by the JDF-Coast Guard for law enforcement, patrolling, and interdiction missions within Jamaica’s exclusive economic zone.

PALFINGER announced it has been awarded a contract by the Dutch rescue organization Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij (KNRM) for 12 custom-built rigid-hulled inflatable boats (RHIBs), which will assist the organization during future rescue operations. Armstrong Launches RHIB Tour Boat
Armstrong Marine USA Inc. launched the 11.3- by 4.2-meter Naiad rigid hull inflatable boat (RHIB) Bay Voyager II in late July. Builder sea trials in Port Angeles, Wash. indicate a cruise speed of 25 knots.The vessel was originally built for San Francisco-based tour company Bay Voyager, but is now for sale from Armstrong Marine.The USCG Subchapter T vessel has capacity 28 passenger plus two crew. It features Naiad’s heavy-duty fendering system and a full width aft canopy. The semi-open cabin provides passengers with unobstructed views throughout the vessel.

Having recently taken delivery of two new RIBCRAFT 5.85 rigid inflatable boats (RIB), the California Department of Fish and Wildlife awarded the Massacusetts-based builder another contract, to supply and deliver shipboard RIBs for its fleet of long range fisheries patrol boats.The RIBs already delivered will be used by the agency's Southern District, which covers all of Santa Barbara, Ventura, Los Angeles and San Diego counties. The vessels will be operated by one or two wardens for patrol and enforcement operations.

Powered by Yamaha 115-horsepower outboard, the RIB can reach speeds in excess of 40 miles per hour, the builder said.
