Hatteland Display Relocates Norwegian HQ
Hatteland Display is moving its headquarters 30 miles west to a new purpose-built building with extended research and development (R&D) and testing facilities. The company has begun to relocate from its original location in Åmsosen to its new HQ in Aksdal on the west coast of Norway, in a move that aims to support Hatteland Display’s technology growth strategy and to ensure better links and shipping access.
SeaCURE Gains Korean Exposure
Evoqua Water Technologies’ partnership with Krosys was strengthened with the unveiling of a SeaCURE Ballast Water Treatment System during the Kormarine 2017 exhibition in Busan, South Korea. The electrochlorination unit (ECU) skid showcases the Korean engineering company’s competence in building, installing and commissioning Evoqua’s high-end ballast water treatment technology in the Korean newbuild and retrofit markets.
Hyundai Merchant Marine Selects Intellian VSAT Antennas
Hyundai Merchant Marine will adopt Intellian antennas as standard VSAT antenna solution across its fleet of container vessels. Intellian, a provider of maritime satellite antenna systems, said global logistics company Hyundai Merchant Marine (HMM) has selected its VSAT antennas to be installed across its fleet of containerships. Intellian said it will partner with global service providers to deliver high-speed and reliable connectivity to HMM’s vessels.
New LNG Carrier for Ichthys LNG Project Named
A new vessel built for carrying liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the Ichthys LNG Project in Darwin, Australia to Naoetsu, Niigata has been named at the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Ltd. (MHI) Nagasaki Shipyard. The LNG carrier was named Oceanic Breeze by Toshiaki Kitamura, President of INPEX Corporation (INPEX), whose fully owned subsidiary INPEX Shipping Co., Ltd. will time-charter the ship. ABB Acquires Tekomar
With its most recent acquisition, ABB has further expanded its ABB Ability portfolio of digital products and services with the addition of a new propulsion performance monitoring solution. ABB Turbo Systems Ltd. has signed an agreement to acquire Swiss headquartered Tekomar Group Ltd. ABB said it will further develop Tekomar’s digital solution for engine analytics and advisory systems enabling better performance for marine customers. The transaction is expected to be closed during Q4 2017.

New Freshwater Generator Slashes Power Consumption
When it was introduced in 2008, Alfa Laval’s AQUA freshwater generation technology cut seawater needs and pump-related power consumption in half. With today’s AQUA Blue S-type, the need for electrical power is further reduced – to just one-third that of conventional freshwater generators.
