Nippon Paint Marine Coats Grand Bahama Shipyard Ltd. Floating Dry Docks
Nippon Paint Marine, a marine coatings leader, has supplied its self-indicating epoxy coating NOA 60 HS, to protect two new floating dry docks for Grand Bahama Shipyard. The floating docks have a combined total of around 1.2 million square meters of surface to be protected. This equates to the area of over 168 full size FIFA football pitches. Tsuneishi Acquires GTT Repair License

ASRY Completes Work on Tanker Torm Venture
The Arab Shipbuilding and Repair Yard Company (ASRY) completed the repair, maintenance and handover of the giant cargo tanker Torm Venture, owned by Denmark's Torm. The project involved major repair and maintenance works to renew the vessel and improve its operationalefficiency.âDuring this project, we faced a challenge to complete the repairs and deliver the vessel successfully within just 14 days from the start of work, while the expected timeframe was 18 days," said Mahmood Hassan, a project manager at ASRY.

Marine battery maker AYK Energy is gearing up production after striking a deal to undertake the biggest ever battery retrofit on a vessel operated by Finnish shipping line Wasaline.AYK will install a 10.4MWh battery on the hybrid-electric Ropax ferry, the Aurora Botnia, which operates a daily service between Finland and Sweden. Air lubrication system company Silverstream Technologies has signed an MoU with Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou), one of the largest ship repair yards in China and part of China Merchants Group.The partnership aims to drive retrofit installations of the Silverstream® System.Yiu Lian Dockyards (Shekou) operates repair yards in Shekou, Shenzhen. The shipyard accepts all major vessel types but is well known as the leading repair yard in China for LNG carriers.The dockyard has serviced 734 vessels in the past three years from all segments, and so far in 2024 alone, it has dry-docked 28 LNG carriers.
