Victaulic to Add Manufacturing Space in Pennsylvania
Victaulic, a manufacturer of mechanical pipe joining solutions, has unveiled a plan to build an additional state-of-the-art manufacturing center in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. The 400,000 square foot facility is the result of increased domestic demand for the company’s products. The facility is expected to break ground later this year and be fully operational in 2019. “This new facility will play an important role in meeting increased customer demand, while also producing the highest quality products in the industry -- something our customers have come to expect from us since our first innovation nearly 100 years ago,” said John F. Malloy, CEO of Victaulic.
North Sea Canal Ports Transhipment Hits Record 100 MT
The positive economy led to a 2.5 percent increase in the transhipment of goods at the Port of Amsterdam to 81.3 million tonnes in 2017. Together with the other seaports in the North Sea Canal Area, transhipment rose to a record level of 100.8 million tonnes. In IJmuiden, transhipment was up 7 percent to 18.5 million tonnes. Beverwijk saw transhipment increase to 800,000 tonnes (up 6 percent). Zaanstad booked an increase of 35 percent to 300,000 tonnes. The increase at the Port of Amsterdam was mainly due to higher transhipment of oil products and agribulk.
United States Marine Cuts Ribbon to New Facility
United States Marine, Inc., began the new year with a ribbon cutting ceremony at its new facility in Gulfport, Miss. As a result of the damage inflicted by hurricane Katrina to the New Orleans division, USMI relocated their facilities to Gulfport. The new facility has enabled USMI to resume normal production and service operations. The new facility is located at 10011 Lorraine Road in Gulfport. USMI plans to also return to the New Orleans facility as an added production facility once the infrastructure returns to eastern New Orleans. The actual ribbon cutting was performed by Tom Dreyfus, the Chairman and founder of USMI.
Trico Announces $50M Refinancing of Credit Facility
Trico Marine Services, Inc. announced that it has entered into a new $50 million revolving credit facility to refinance its previous $45 million credit facility. The new facility will mature on December 18, 2005, and is structured as a senior secured revolving credit facility. Proceeds from the facility will be used for working capital needs, capital expenditures and other general corporate purposes. The facility will be secured by mortgages on substantially all of the company's Gulf of Mexico class supply boats and crew boats. The new facility, containing customary terms and conditions, replaces the previous facility, which was scheduled to expire in June 2003. Nordea acted as lead arranger and book runner for the new facility and will serve as administrative agent.
Maersk Secures $5.1 bln Revolving Credit Facility
Danish shipping and oil group A.P. Moller-Maersk said on Wednesday it had secured a $5.1 billion revolving credit facility with a maturity of five years. "The new facility is arranged by the company itself and refinances a $6.75 billion facility maturing in 2015," A.P. Moller-Maersk said in a statement. The group received strong support from 21 banks and the facility was oversubscribed. The new facility may be extended by up to two years and will be used for general corporate purposes, it said. MAN B&W Set to Open Jadaf Facility
MAN/B&W is about to complete the construction of a new state-of-the-art turbocharger service and repair facility at Jadaf. This new facility will be operational during the first quarter of 2005 and will reportedly house some of the most technically-advanced machines, such as the Schenk H4/20 and HM 10 Cab 803 balancing machines. As well as MAN/B&W turbochargers, this new facility will also offer repair and refit work for other turbocharger manufacturers.
Hornbeck Offshore Closes New Revolving Credit Facility
Hornbeck Offshore Services, Inc. has closed on a new five- year senior secured revolving credit facility that increased the amount of the borrowing base, extended the maturity, lowered the interest rate and improved the financial flexibility of the covenant package of the Company's prior revolving credit facility, commensurate with its enhanced credit standing. The new revolving credit facility has increased the Company's borrowing base from $60 million to $100 million, with an accordion feature that allows for the potential expansion of the facility up to $250 million in total. The new facility has also extended the maturity of the prior facility from February 2009 to September 2011.
Taylor Made Environmental Opens New U.K. Facility
facility in Poole to provide sales and technical support throughout Europe for the company's marine air conditioning, refrigeration and battery charger product lines. According to Trevor Goldsmith, managing director of Taylor Made Environmental, Europe, Ltd, the new facility includes a 5,000 sq. ft. warehouse, which is being stocked with over $1.7 million in inventory,and 2,000 sq. ft. of office space. There are also three fully operational workshops for repair and refurbishment of equipment. The new facility is being staffed by 16 employees, including five field engineers and other sales, service and administrative personnel. Goldsmith stated that Taylor Made Environmental will be able to provide 24-hour deliveries from stock anywhere in Europe for most popular items.
New Nautican Facility Readies First Shipment
The new Nautican Research and Development manufacturing and integration facility in Summerside, Prince Edward Island, opened in December 2016 with the support of Babcock Canada and the provincial government. The first shipment, a set of rudders, is nearing completion and will soon be delivered to Pacific Fisherman in Seattle. The new facility produces Nautican’s High-Efficiency marine propulsion products. Over the coming years Nautican will progressively transition the manufacturing of its Integrated Propulsion Units (IPUs) to the new facility as well.

The new facility has dedicated transmission and thruster repair facilities, and larger warehouse and training areas. ZF Marine has a long standing presence in Louisiana, opening their first location in the city of St. Rose in 1996.
